I generally don't like to dump on goalies but there was some shoddy goaltending in this one (both sides).

Ducks are in the tank. Fully immersed.

I found myself wondering today could Cozens be our Bergeron and Krebs be our Marchand? Cozens really seems to be coming into his own and is only being held back by being saddled with the rookies. Quinn shouldn't be in the NHL. He's just not ready. But Cozens has got it all and that drive and focus with 2 way ability is making me think Bergeron.

Some will say Krebs isn't a dirty Marchand type rat, but watch closely, it's coming. Kid likes to get in close, toss an elbow, a slash, a little butt end, scraps and yaps. Sure, he hasn't licked anyone (yet) but I can see the Marchand in him developing. Eichel trade looking even better. We need that.

Lybushkyn was good today. Solid play as others have said.

Tage is bothering me though. He just seems to be floating at times. Lacking desire? Just not into it? Head elsewhere? idk. Might be nothing. See how it goes.

This game was more like it should have been against Chicago. With good goaltending this game is 6-1 or a shutout.

Granato admitted Lyubushkin has been playing hurt and Hamilton noted today was the first time he saw him skating like that...thinks we start seeing this version of Lyubushkin more as he gets healthier...

Said if Lyubushkin can tie his skates he wants to play and the game against the Lightning where Dahlin was out, Lyubushkin was still in a walking boot but ended up playing in the game...

Granato said Boosh came back around 70% but keeps getting healthier and healthier

Is Thompson playing injured? He looks a step behind every shift.

Everyone probably has some bumps and bruises they are playing through at this time of the year.

Quinn could really benefit from being the guy who plays with Okposo and Girgs. It’s like being sent to a specialist. They always bring out the best in players

I think next year, Jack Quinn will be a revelation

I agree with most of this apart from the goaltending comment regarding the Sabres.

Gibson has been subpar for a while, not sure what happened, but there was a time where he was a very good goalie then just dropped off. Maybe he gave up mentally as Anaheim began their deterioration.

UPL was instrumental in the NYI win and then did what he had to do today. A few months back he did look shaky, but I feel he gets a little better/ more confident as the game progresses. Settles in. He seems to come up with huge saves at highly critical times, so the slow starts do not bother me

If you look at UPL in this game alone, he stopped 34 of 37 shots. That's an excellent save percentage. I'd like to see him lower his GAA, but I believe save percentage to be the more important stat. And he is improving there methodically with each passing game

He's our number 1. Easily

A wonderful win.  Two doubles for guys that need to break out.  The team covered for mistakes by nos. 1 (yes he made them) and 10 (yes he did, too).  And again they were as physical as their opponents, or moreso.

Quinn always explodes his second season in a league. He has all the skills. He needs to really improve his core strength if he really wants to take that step. I think he gets there in the next couple years.

That might be the best game Bush has ever played in his life.

Time to trade Goal-offson while his value is at it's zenith.  🙂

Fun game and mostly a top notch effort outside of about 10 minutes in the second.  Thompson needs to shoot first and deek second.  Great game today by VO, Krebs and Bush.  Maybe the best game for all 3 all season.

Olofsson has 8 goals in his last 9 games. Not sure he 'needs to break out'.

I still see him as a PP specialist; maybe I need to open up more to him.

This, not a “demotion” was why Tage was playing with them.

They play direct and demand that of their centre. That’s what’s Tage has to get back to.

Watching the highlights, that Dylan Cozens goal was reminiscent of a Bert move,...thing of beauty.

I said "Briere!" when he pulled it, but it easily could have been Perreault or--don't hate me--Roy.

Cannot believe none of the media even bothered to ask why Tage was on the 4th line a lot of the 3rd period in Granato's interview...

Where’s Jerry Sullivan when you need him…

Secondary scoring is always great. Carried us today.

Cozens is breaking out big this year. He's rapidly becoming my favorite player. Plays with fire and skill every shift and he's just scratching the surface.

Dahlin is so good. 2 assists and a couple of takeaways, just another day at the office for him. He's a legit Norris contender.

UPL's confidence is growing by the game. I'm to the point where I'm ready to pen him in as our #1 goalie for the foreseeable future. Still makes some mistakes at times, but he's only, what, 22? And still doesn't have a full season worth of games under his belt. He looks like an absolute wall at times.

Future is VERY bright.

0 goats in the Sabres store and my heart hurts

Was gonna buy one

They SHOULD be available again, if not this season, next year as those B&R goatheads are 3rds & not a 1 season thing (like the reverse retros are).

Yes, but I was just talking about today. That Zegras goal on the short side was poor positioning by UPL and should never have gone in. The long shot was weak as well.

idk. He needs to be bigger and stronger, and less afraid. He needs to grow into a man so to speak. Too many times I see him in the right position, ready to make the right play, but he'll stop or back away from contact and won't press the play further, so the opponent just moves past him or passes easily. So mentally I think he can read the plays and make the decisions, but he's just too gun shy after that, and a lot of that is because he's not physically ready.

Send him to the weight room every day.
