Can the Amerks still make the playoffs?

They'll have to really tank the final three weeks to miss.

If my math is correct any combination of Amerk regulation wins and Senator regulation  losses that equals 6 should get them in.

Top 5 in the division make it.

  • 2 Utica: 71 points, 9 games left
  • 3 Syracuse: 68, 10
  • 4 Rochester: 67, 10
  • 5 Cleveland: 63, 11
  • 6 Belleville: 62, 8

Real battle looks to be versus Syracuse for the 1st-round bye

Big win for Rochester today. Kulich with two more goals. Duffer did the color commentary next to Don Stevens and he did a great job, very smooth.. So much better than Ric Seiling was.

I noticed Kulich was out of the lineup tonight. Anybody know why?

Yes, I'm sure somebody does.

The Amerks are quietly 7-0-2-1 in their last 10 and have jumped into 2nd place in the North. Everyone could still shuffle around, and the Amerks need at least one more win to avoid 4th place and the best-of-3 play-in round, but they've played great (with Kulich and Rosen scoring key goals) to jump to the front of the pack.

Their likeliest first round matchup will be with either Syracuse or Utica. The Crunch and Comets face each other in 2 of the final 3 games of the season so they'll be motivated to avoid the best-of-3 play-in round.

I wonder if he ever ends up playing with his bro

They did play against each other last year. But with each other on the same pro team …. That would be cool for them at some point.

A question for the Rochester afficionados here: Is Rosen the most improved player within this season? And which two or three players do you project to move up to the NHL within another year or two?

Kulich and Rousek will be in the NHL 2024 & 2023 respectively.  Rosen still weighs 160 lbs soaking wet and he’s a super one dimensional player.

Thanks for your insightful response. In three years or so when Rosen is more physically developed, do you see him as an NHL player? Or as you describe it, he is a too one dimensional in a higher league that requires, to a degree, two-dimensional play? Or is it simply too early to make that projection?
