Disagree. I know that bothers you. Sryย

Disagreement in trades doesnโ€™t bother anyone. Itโ€™s part of why SabreSpace exists, I think.ย

As of the other day Tuch had played 82 games for the Sabres since gaining his health. He had 73 points in that time. His 4 points today sorta gets him a little closer to a point a game guy. The trade with Vegas is looking better and better with Tuch's skills and with Krebs looking better and better. Kudos to Granato for recognizing what his players need to progress and develop. I wouldn't be in a hurry to give up on anyone on this team.

The Sabres did not win the trade.

Thompson was nothing for the 1st 3 years post-trade and he was the only useful piece returned for a Selke winning Conn Smythe winner.

Thompson was their 3rd rated prospect.ย  He could've been had for a lot less than the Sabres gave up for him.

The Sabres finished dead spanking last 3 years after they traded ROR away.

As great as Thompson will turn out to be the 3 years of trash hockey we were subjected to has to be included in the ledger.

Iโ€™m not disagreeing the first couple years post trade sucked. I made plenty of posts that were negative regarding TT. All Iโ€™m saying is that over time and in the last year and half to two years itโ€™s appears the Sabres won. Agree to disagree.

And how about Krebs blasting Slacker Hall, then having to take on Clifton.ย  ย After the fight he is smiling, shaking his fists as he goes off for repairs.ย  ย The kid came back and played hard and no one laid a finger on him.ย  ย You have to get respect in this league.ย ย

ย

How did Clifton not get the instigator?ย  ย ย

Josh Allen's Superman influence is rubbing off on Tuch...we want more!

It's really nice to finally have a New Year's Eve where the Sabres are entertaining and relevant (playoffs?) vs. where we've been all these years.

Although isn't it Dahlin heaving the long passes ๐Ÿค”?

Refs being refs. They even missed high sticking against the Bruins but didnโ€™t hesitate to call them on us.ย

The best part of the fight was Krebsโ€™ reaction after. TT smirking on the bench and the guys feeling the energy.ย

He looked like a mad man waving his men into the battle.ย

Clifton should have gotten the extra two imo.

Yes and no. While nothing is guaranteed with TNT, he's locked up for an additional 7 years at what looks like a very team friendly contract. Krebs seems to be finding his game too. O'Reilly is a great player and left a big hole when he went to St. Louis. As much as anything I miss his face off abilities. He was one of those vital pieces that got the Blues to make a run from nowhere to get into the playoffs and win the Cup. A wonderful trade for them but the Sabres weren't going anywhere even with O'Reilly on board. As it turned out it looks like it could be a great trade for the Sabres too and a win all around.

ROR won them a cup. They canโ€™t lose the trade. History is just showing the Sabres didnโ€™t actually lose it either. Thompson wasnโ€™t their โ€˜third best prospectโ€™. We got the best player in the deal, who is also the best player on either team.ย

Unless Thompson wins us 2!

Bad coaching and GMing made OReilly and Eichel trades necessary.... glad Sabres found a coach... and a GM who are able to mold young players... Sabres were going nowhere no matter who they had with that last batch of imbeciles... so Tomatoe.... whatever just glad they are coming out the other end.

At the time it looked like the Sabres lost the trade. What I am saying is years later the Sabres won that trade in the long run.

That's fair
