Corp000085 Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Here's a thread to consolidate discussion on tonight's bruins game... As always, keep things PG-13 or lower... Spandrel did a great job last game, so hopefully he's not out drinking tonight. Game starts at 8pm on Directv channel 769. The radio broadcast is streamed on the internet via www.nhl.com GO SABRES!
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Just got back from my son's hockey practice, and ready for the game. Let's drop the puck, the game is just starting on MSG. Tougher tilt tonight.
coloradosabresfan Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 http://wss-vip.nine.xc.advection.net/event...51004/9287/0020 here's a link you can open directly in windows media player (control-U) GO SABRES!!!
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 I'm multi-tasking tonight, as I'm listening to the Amerks opener streaming on my computer as they are taking on the Marlies. My son has his Dumont jersey on, and we're ready. Sabres in their 3rd jerseys tonight. Puck just dropped.
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Derek Roy is not sulking about being back here in Rochester. He just scored on the power play and the Amerks are up 2-1!!!!!
Corp000085 Posted October 8, 2005 Author Report Posted October 8, 2005 afinogenov just got hurt... drury with a hard pass that hit him point blank in the ankle.
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Buffalo really struggling in getting the puck out of their defensive zone. Good news is that Afinogenov is back on the ice.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Miller looks good ... good thing, Sabres are getting dominated ... gotta find their legs, not skating like the opener ... second PP coming, maybe that will help ...
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Miller looks good ... good thing, Sabres are getting dominated ... gotta find their legs, not skating like the opener ...second PP coming, maybe that will help ... Yep, huge save by Miller on that short-handed break-away. This Boston team is just controlling the tempo and play of this game.
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Nice, calm stickwork by Vanek behind the net to set up that one-timer to J.P., but Raycroft saved it. The Sabres got some nice offensive flow from Briere's line on that last shift. First time in a while that they've had some nice control in the offensive zone. Chris Taylor just poked in the puck to even things up in a wild 2nd period in Rochester. Roy and Pominville with the assists. 3-3 game in the 2nd period. EDIT: Amerks score another quick goal, and go up 4-3! Roy is having a monster game, and may be given an assist on that goal.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 where is the linesman to pick up that dead wood? the puck hit it 4 times ... starting to even things out a little, looking a bit better ... Lydman looks adequate tonight ... he was brutal in the opener ...
Guest Guest_Boo Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 ESPN says the 1st period is over. How are we looking?
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 well after 1 no score ... flow was not as good as the opener but getting better ... Sabres ot dominated about the first 12-15 minutes but came on, starting to find their legs...3rd power play of period will carry over ... would be nice to get a goal because we have not take a penalty yet, gotta even out eventually ... Miller stopped a breakaway, gave the guy nothing ... both goalies look very good ... LOVING the NESN guys ... old ESPN guy Jack Edwards is the play by play ... not RJ and Loretz, obviously, but better than most, not homers ...
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 So far, so not bad. The Bruins were doing a great job at controlling the puck in our defensive end early on, but the Sabres have made some adjustments and seem to be finally getting some offensive flow. The Dumont-Briere-Vanek line is starting to play well, also. They have gotten some quality shots on their last two shifts. Miller has looked solid in the pipes making a key save on a Bergeron breakaway. He gave up a couple of long rebounds, but otherwise has played well. Raycroft, for Boston, has played very well for the Bruins, as well.
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Sabres looking much better starting this period. Connolly's line had a nice shift, and the Peters-Gaustad-Pyatt line is having a nice shift right here, also.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 wow anothr penalty on Boston ... never would have been called before ...if they call it like this all year the game might really change PP is still horrible tonigt, or their PK is great ...
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 J.P. Dumont with the score! Vanek with another pretty assist to set Dumont up. Power play goal after the ticky-tack penalty to Slegr. 1-0, good guys!!
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Very pretty, Vanek is impressing the hell out of these boston announcers ... B's just hit 2 posts ... better to be lucky ....
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 OK the NESN guys going overboard prasing the Sabres ... Edwards just said "Pyat came over with Connolly in the Mike Peca trade ... the Sabres are pretty happy with that." Ummm, Jack ... As if on cue, Connolly misses everything from the high slot ...
Spandrel Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 GOOOOOAAAAALLLLLL! Shot from the point, and trickled in. Not sure who is going to get credit for it. Tallinder took the shot, but Drury may have re-directed it. Grier with the screen.
drury23 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Grier got credit for the goal as it went in off his skate after Drury redirected it.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 Stupid penalty by connolly ... stopped skating ... but was a matter of time, PPs were 4-0 Sabres ...
