TNT was talking about who is better, Tage or Eichel.  Dumb conversation since Eichel leaving had nothing to do with Tage. 

Who do I pick to help me build a team, Eichel or Tage?   I pick Tage.  Even if Eichel is "better", which he isn't, they are close enough that I pick Tage.  

Tage is a man. He conducts himself like a professional at all times.  He cares about the team.  He is a quiet leader, and he will prove himself to be a leader.

I thought the deal was premature, because he looked like a possible one year wonder. I’m so glad I was wrong.  Tage has taken his game to another level.  He is arguably among the top 10 centers in the NHL.  His long-term deal looks like a steal now.

The Sabres probably saved three million annually by inking him as early as they did. That’s another impactful player under the cap down the line.

Probably more than that when you look at contracts for the rest of the forwards.  This is the Sabres MacKinnon contract.

He's certainly developed in an unexpected way over the last 2 years and become an offensive force. He seems to be a true legit goal scorer who can turn a game at any moment from any spot.

I guess the lesson here is don't give up on prospects in their early 20's.
