matter2003 Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 (edited) Imagine if Quinn lives up to his PNHLe projections of 90+ points... Dobber Prospects called him one of the most improved NHL prospects last season, and also have him at not only a 95% certainty to become an NHLer, their PNHLe scoring model has him projecting eventually at a 90+ point per season level. SabresBillsFan Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 I’m really liking this line, as Cozens is like the bigger older brother. Hoping that was the confidence this trio needs to really take off. 4 Quote
North Buffalo Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 Now just gotta get the Mitts line going... Ollie is only a power play specialist with no grit... Mitts playing hard and Hinestroza im unsure of... Savoie and Kulich next year and you might have something. 2 Quote

My cousin's coach still calls his players Hecht when they blast a shot from the blue line into the goalies chest when they had nothing but open ice Infront of them. They have no clue what he's talking about but I get a laugh because that's my only memories of him. 1 Quote

It may not be a great reference, but years ago when Casey played in the world juniors, I thought he played with Brady Tkachuk and they made a great line. Then again, who would not play better with a Tkachuk as a line mate. 1 Quote
PickaPecaPickles Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 A lot of good quotes on Quinn and the Young-guns line from Fairburn's Athletic article: On Quinn: Quote Granato mentioned before the game that Quinn has spent a lot of extra time watching video with the assistant coaches. He’s been a healthy scratch for a few games and was also out of the lineup recently because of an injury. Granato has been adamant that the time out of the lineup can benefit a young player like Quinn. “It’s situational awareness, and he’s picked it up fast, to the point where now it’s second nature to him,” Granato said. “It doesn’t break his confidence. He reads a play quicker. He reads danger quicker. He reads opportunity quicker. And he’s gained more comfort as a result. So that’s a process that he’s been very engaged in.” Said Quinn: “Just little details. Not trying to score when I go out there. Just try to make the reads, compete, win battles, and the chances will come. Just trying to play an all-around game. That goes a long way.” On their line: Quote Quinn isn’t creating all of these chances on his own. Since Granato put him with Cozens and JJ Peterka, the results have been encouraging. Peterka set up Cozens for a goal on an odd-man rush Wednesday. That trio accounts for 70 percent of the expected goals when it’s on the ice, according to Natural Stat Trick. “It feels like we have a ton of chemistry,” Quinn said. “We all want to play together. We’re having a ton of fun out there, and just trying to keep getting better and better. We’re a young line, so we’re just going to try to keep building on it.” Like Quinn, Cozens is 21, and Peterka is 20. If those three can provide a consistent scoring threat as the second line behind Thompson, Skinner and Alex Tuch, it could change the way this lineup plays from night to night. Cozens embraces the leadership role even at such a young age. “I think we have a very special opportunity to do something special with us three being so young,” Cozens said. “I told those guys, ‘We can play together for the next 10, 15 years and build some crazy chemistry.’ It’s exciting to all play together at this age with how young we are and keep growing together. I’m excited to see what we can do in the future, for sure.” https://theathletic.com/3930511/2022/11/24/sabres-blues-jack-quinn-upl/ 1 1 1 2 Quote
Believer Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 Based on recent play and DG not feeling the need to break up “ThereForAllToSee” chemistry, top two lines should be set… How about 3rd line Okposo Jost, Olofssen 4th line Mittelstadt, Asplund and Girgensons… Rotate Hinostroza and Krebs Let the bottom two lines play together long enough to find some success 1 Quote

A draft apart does that . It's cool that less than a year actually separates all 3 of them. 2 1 Quote

A goal scorer with magic in his stick who can hold his own in every other facet of the game. I don’t see them as similar players. 4 Quote

Taking that JJ-DC-JQ line as an example, I actually see JJ and DC as the more complimentary players and Quinn as the guy who could be an offensive star putting up huge goal and point totals. Quote

On the 1st he pulled up off the rush and just waited for the D to drift into the perfect position to act as a screen then ripped it past the goalie. Then on this 2nd one he just coasted in, waited for Binnington to make the first move ( drop down and close his 5 hole) then pulled a beautiful deek around him and put the puck in the net. Magic 1 Quote

Still awesome that he scored, but all of Quinn's body language on the first said, "I f'd that one up and got lucky anyways." Still cool that he got a good screen shot off though. Lots of guys on the team would have looked for a pass that wasn't there and turned the puck over. 1 Quote

I think he was considering passing it, then he mishandled it once, so he opted for the shot instead. Quote
