I apologize if this was covered elsewhere but Gilbert Perreault was number 68 on The Athletic countdown.
I thought he’d be higher but it was great reading how Gretzky idolized him and how Wayne dreamt of playing for the Sabres when he was a kid.

Favorite story was how an 11 year old Gretzky was reprimanded by his coach for pulling up after crossing blue line and responded by saying “Perreault does it.”
