Sabres Fan in NS Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Severe winter storm warning issued. Quote
Doohicksie Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Ft Worth had snow showers in the early afternoon. 3/4 of the people left at about 2 pm to go home. I stayed until 5. By then the snow had stopped. The traffic was light. The roads were clear (except for some icy patches on bridges). Bunch of amateurs. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 Dug out today and now it;s very cold tonight and tomorrow. Then warmer on Tuesday and rain on Wednesday and Thursday. http://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/ns-19_metric_e.html Quote
GoPre Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 High was in the mid 20's all weekend where I live. Supposedly getting up to 78 on Wednesday. Pure craziness. Quote

Stoner Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 :( Saw a pond today that is roughly the size of an NHL rink. It had been shoveled after the last big snow. It just sits there soggy and unskateable, but there's still hope I guess. Quote

But then we're in for a couple of weeks, if the weather report is to be believed. Quote
josie Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 Yeah, the brief thaw has turned my apartment into a spider/stinkbug paradise, apparently. Staring at a wee jumping spider going up my wall right now, in fact.. just got out of the shower where two little spider bros met their fate after choosing the shower curtain as a great place to chill. Sorry, little dudes. Quote

Doohicksie Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 I have a feeling that this won't end well ... http://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/ns-19_metric_e.html Stay safe, NS. Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 Stay safe, NS. Thanks. So far, so good. The freezing rain started around 9:00 AM here in Bedford. The change over to rain should be pretty quick and then the ice will melt. My biggest worry is for this evening and over-night when the rain will be very heavy and very strong winds. The ground is frozen, so there is a good possibility of flooding, but it is supposed to stay warm, so with luck all the rain won't freeze. Quote
pi2000 Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 a stick plugged the pool overflow drain and flooded my yard Sunday due to the heavy rains... I think we got over an inch of rain in a 24hr period which is a lot here since the drainage isn't designed to handle that type of volume. Quote
Weave Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 Wait..... You have lawn furniture out in late January? No sympathy. Quote
MattPie Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 We had a bunch of rain and wind here yesterday. Flipped over a cast lawn table that I have to focus to pick up and move. Better than last year, where it was 10 degrees colder and I had to dig out a few feet of wind-blown snow that was *heavy*. Quote

3putt Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 Can anyone report on the conditions around holiday valley? Was thinking of heading out there to ski during AS weekend. Looks like some serious lake effect isnon the way. Quote
