They not only get 1 most nights, they sometimes get 2. ENGs might pad stats, but ENGs mean you're winning. RE: VO. Other players have the opportunity to make the ENG, but VO puts them in from distance with authority. Dead center, sometimes midway up the net. None of this letting the puck slide and wobble on edge and go wide and end up as an icing. VO EN snipes. Plus... Gimme Gimme Gimme at home for song and dance. Gotta put on some blue pants, otherwise the colored triangles on the sweater just chunk down to nothing. It doesn't flow. The game highlights were fun. And here's where the fun continues. @ CAR -- very good team. 1st back-to-back of the season @ TB - how will the Sabres' legs and speed look on the back-end on the road? Will they look like PIT in the 3rd? Vs. ARZ - a potential trap game against an on-paper and Corsi very bad team starting a 14-game road trip. Vs. VGK. You must face Jackikin Eichwalker again. Then, only then, a Sabre will you be. Fantastic team thus far this season. (And what makes ARZ the truest definition of a trap game.) The #2 team in the NHL (right now) - one of 2 teams with a better goal differential than Buffalo. Vs. BOS. It all builds to the showdown with the #1 team in the division and NHL (right now). The other team with a better goal differential. Accelerate to attack speed. This is it, boys. Edited November 3, 2022 by DarthEbriate 2 Quote

Think the Goat Head Whities make a statement… Unique in the league… A first… Getting plenty of attention…Good choice for a team of gifted young players… Fits their personality… It’s about them… not us 2 Quote

But wondering how much of the great start was the lesser guys knowing that the studs would be back soon, so they just need to find a little extra while the studs are out, which while it isn't sustainable over 82 games can be over 15-20. IF that's the case, we should see them drop back a bit when their top guys do get back as everybody else will relax back to their normal games (or even lesser for a bit as they've got to be getting close to spent). Seen it happen often. A team hits a run of bad injuries but stays strong as their remaining guys find that playoff intensity for a bit & their opponents have ever so slight a let down not having to get 'up' to play against somebody they know they have to play hard against or get embarrassed by. Hoping that's the case. ;) Quote

Hoping that's the case. 😉 Plus the shiny new coach effect. Trouble is, it's a really good team, so I don't expect it to wear off. They're also getting great goaltending from Ullmark and the offense is good enough to cover for Swayman's poor showings thus far. Quote

(That one seems to be happening on both ends of Cassidy's move, unfortunately.) They aren't staying at an 0.900 pace. And wouldn't be shocked to see them drop below an NHL 0.600 pace for a month or 2 about a week or so after all the stars are back. Not enough to drop out of contention, but enough to make them beatable. Quote
