nfreeman Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 Wow. Congrats Mule. If he's as good as most of us think he is, this is a good deal for the Sabres. 1 3 Quote
matter2003 Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 Wow! They are locking up their young players early...smart as long as they turn out good. 1 1 Quote
Zamboni Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 (edited) Hasn’t proven himself. Stupid contract. They will rue the day they signed him to this. #negativenancy #glasshalfempty #contrarianforthehellofit 😂 seriously, good for Mattais! More than fair from a Sabres standpoint. French Collection Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 I like this. Mule will not produce big numbers but he will be a key partner for Dahlin or Power. He sounds like a key guy in the room and has been a leader on USA and NCAA teams. He’s another guy that may wear a letter in a few years. He will turn out comparable to Mike Ramsey. 4 1 Quote
dudacek Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 Stunned. Never saw that one coming. Looks like they regard him as highly as we do. It's a gamble, but I take that bet. My god, is that deal going to look good when he is the Ryan McDonough of our contending teams. 5 3 2 Quote
LabattBlue Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 I thought this thread title was a joke. 54 NHL games, and you get a contract of this length and $$$. okie dokie Quote
Weave Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 A bit of a gamble, like TTs contract. Hopefully KAs evaluations are spot on. 1 1 Quote
dudacek Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 Adams' plan continues to manifest: identifying and locking up the "right" players is clearly part of it. Related — heard interviews recently where both Dahlin and Tuch, unprompted, singled out Mule as a great player people don't know about yet; the players know. 2 2 Quote

dudacek Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 You can't preach what the Sabres have been preaching without putting your money where your mouth is and rewarding the people who exemplify it. Cozens next? 1 4 Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 This deal is perfect. It will be a bargain in about 2 or 3 years. This guy will be the defensive anchor on a very good Sabre team. Likely top pairing with Dahlin or maybe 2nd pairing with Power as the years go by and other players develop. 3 Quote
aristocrat Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 With the cap actually expected to go up in a couple years and if he gets better this could be a steal of a deal in a few years. 1 Quote
Huckleberry Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 Hell even if he is just a 3rd pair D , its still not all that bad. Would just mean we got 4 studs ahead of him. 2 Quote

Maybe as high as 7 and $35M, but more likely 7 at $4.75M AAV. 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 The Sabres are doing what the Atlanta Braves are doing and have been doing; locking up key players when they are young to insure continuity and at least for the Braves, the winning culture. This is a smart practice if the team becomes a winner. 3 Quote
Eleven Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 I have the same reaction that I had with the Thompson contract: Adams can't hit home runs if he doesn't swing for the fences. Let's just hope he's not swinging at a nasty curve here; Thompson had a larger body of work to evaluate. 5 Quote
Dryballs Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 Love the way this guy plays especially when he pastes people to the boards. Very smart signing. The Sabres are heading in the right direction on many levels. .... freakin awesome!! 3 Quote
That Aud Smell Posted October 12, 2022 Report Posted October 12, 2022 I funking love this deal and love the team's having identified samuelsson as part of the team's core. i love that kid's game. i'm confident that he already is and long will be a solid part of a good nhl team's d-corps. lez geaux. 3 2 1 Quote
