North Eastern do Levi no favours in their own zone.  The amount of unforced turnovers was eye popping. (Yes he will be ready to play for Buffalo)

After getting screwed out of the tournament last year by Canada I’m so glad Levi got his BeanPot.

Kid delivers

Levi really couldn't do anything on either goal.

The 1st was true cross ice tic-tac-toe passing.

The 2nd, he made a blocker save off a screen & the puck went off his C's leg over to his left where the Harvard goal scorer (Coronato had both goals) shot it in before Levi could figure out where the puck had detected to.

Both Northeastern  goals were also scored by the same player (Fontaine).

This Levi kid just might be a keeper.

He'll be in Buffalo sooner rather than later imo.

After watching him last night, he may better than all our goalies right now.

Wheeler has him 4 (of 10) on his list of drafted goalie prospects. Portillo and UPL get honorable mentions.

When is his season over?   If he could potentially start in 2 weeks I think  We have a slim chance of saving the season

Sadly it won’t be any time soon.  He has backstopped back them into NCAA tourney consideration.  NE is now around 16th in the hockey polls and beating Harvard should move them up.

I did watch his last couple of games and the talent is not imagined. It's real. I saw him at the prospects camp last summer and he was tons better than Portillo and the others. His reaction speed is fantastic if a rebound comes back out for a 2nd chance. Great form. His size doesn't hurt him at all.

He’s been hyped as a great goalie prospect and he’s living up to it so far.

His body of work since his draft has been really good. He is ready for the next challenge, turning pro. Someone in the organization was high on him for the trade to happen. His potential is to be a difference maker, we can only hope.

It will be a crowded crease if they give him games in Buffalo.

Bold prediction, by the trade deadline of 2024, Devon Levi will be the starting goalie for the Buffalo Sabres.

Ok so Amerks next tho right? I don't follow closely enough to know how fast goalie prospects move through the steps (compared to skaters like Dahlin, Power, McDavid).

He’s not coming straight to Buffalo.

Yeah, agree. I think next year will be UPL and Comrie in the crease to start, and whomever gets into a groove will be the starter. Comrie since it's his last year on the contract, and UPL because he's the best in the system (so far). I suppose Levi could play his way on the Sabres only if one of them implodes.

We shall see.

He almost definitely will be on the Sabres roster this year after NU's season is done.  If he actually gets into any games, he might surprise in a good way.  In the off-season, he's been facing NHLers since his midterms.

He won't need nearly as much time in Ra-cha-cha as most are expecting.  Could see him taking the Sabres crease by Christmas unless UPL or Comrie take their games to another level.

That would be a horrible thing. No way he's going to be ready at 22 for the NHL. There's going to be a big adjustment  just from college to the AHL. Heck, he may end up the ECHL for a while.  (Assuming we don't trade him to Montreal first, lol.) He's 21. It takes goalies longer to get to NHL level.

We aren't carrying 4 goalies.

Anderson is disposable unless this team is making a playoff push, and I don't think it is.

After the trade deadline, which IIRC falls on March 3, they can carry as many players as they want on the active roster provided they don't exceed the cap.  At this point of the season because of the banked cap they have accrued they could bring in pretty much an entire roster's worth of cap and not exceed it.

And they most certainly will have Levi on the roster for a bit to burn his 1st ELC year.  Pretty sure he'll at least need to dress as the backup for 1 game to do so, so he'll get that much action at a minimum.

And am 100% willing to guarantee he doesn't see the ECHL unless it is on something weird like a conditioning stint post injury.

So what you're saying is that Levi won't get a $57 million contract?
