Expect that either the lines will be juggled a bit on the road or that line will become the clear 4th line with Cozens getting his ice time upped via PK & 2PP & sliding up into the top 9 late in periods, likely taking Quinn's spot in those instances.

I’m not convinced that line is weaker than the Mittesladt line, even with the rookies. Cozens was way better than Casey the last time I saw the two

It’s interesting. I wonder if Mittelstadt gets the better support (Tuch) because they are expecting more from him than Cozens, or he gets Tuch because they think he needs the help more than Cozens and are looking for a balanced middle 6.

Last line gets the tough matchups, top line the matchups we want, when we can

Expecting it's Mittelstadt is ahead in the pecking order (he was the 1C in last year's opener, so we know Granato believes in him, though most nobody else around here does).

It's very apparent we're playing the young players in Carolina and veterans fighting for 13th F / 7th D spots.

And unlike like past years, it is apparent

Perhaps I’m of the minority opinion, but I’m looking forward to the Cozens line going up against the opponents’ best. That’s a very fast line with two good, responsible D forwards in Cozens and Krebs. And I love how Cozens demanded and was given top D assignments vs other teams last year. We might be selling these guys a bit short here.

Kinda there too, with Cozens. I lean towards Casey getting Tuch because he needs him, and Granato going with a more balanced in talent approach

Even if it's preseason, watching this team tonight vs two years ago is like night and day.

I'd argue it's more impressive because it's preseason and players aren't just treating this like a Sunday skate for a paycheck.

Yeah, but not the guy I want taking ten minutes when regular season begins.

If it’s warranted due to a dirty hit, the cache that builds with his teammates is well worth it.

Gotta show the rest of the NHL the Sabres aren't taking no crap, so I don't mind seeing Tage in the box some games to begin the season until the message is loud and clear.
