Heck, the Steelers bus to Cleveland when playing the Browns. Would expect the trips are similar duration. Bus ride to Columbus is 5.5 hours. Bus ride from Pitt to Cleveland is 2.5 hours. Not similar in duration at all. A direct, charter flight from Buffalo to Columbus is less than an hour and a half. And pro sports teams aren’t going thru the regular public passenger terminals, either. That’s gonna take a lot less than 7.5 hours as well, all told. Edited September 29, 2022 by K-9 Quote

It's not even 7.5 hours to Cincy. More like 4 hours to C-Bus. Not sure where the Columbus rink is relative to their airport, but it's nearly 30 minutes to the airport from the MMArena. Bottom line is it’s a helluva lot more convenient and less wearisome to take direct charter flight than ride on a bus all in the same day. Quote
Taro T Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 Bummer. 4-1. Shorthanded, no less. Quote

The "Nat" is downtown north side while the airport is a little ways east just outside the I270 outerbelt. There's a golf course right next to the airport in the landing pattern, so pretty cool some days where the planes approach right over year head. Lived in the Columbus area before moving to Buffalo and agree with 5.5 hours by car. 1 1 Quote
thewookie1 Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 Bad play by the one dman, abandoned the guy going to the net to pinch the guy with the puck. Quote
pastajoe Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 Looked offsides. Still no excuse to let them get behind the D shorthanded. Quote
Spoonman Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 Comrie has been hung out to dry tonight….. My take is plan B4 game was to put UPL in 3rd, like last night, but left Comrie in so UPL confidence not impacted (Comrie a vet relatively). Quote

Taro T Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 No shootout tonight? Thought Ray said they'd be doing a shootout after every preseason game. Quote
Ctaeth Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 sloppy game from most of the team. was a chance to impress for a lot of these guys, but i don't believe anyone jumped off the screen 1 Quote

dudacek Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 If Priskie and Clague thought they had a shot of being the #7, it's time to reconsider. If Bryson and Fitzpatrick thought they were on the team, they need to take a closer look at Lawrence Pilut. The book on Kozak and Kulich and any other Cinderella story making the team is now closed. For the stories that are going to continue: Quinn, Peterka and Krebs are better than Bjork, but haven't cleared the tougher bars yet, and Comrie looked like I kinda expected — a solid backup. Quote
Taro T Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 So much for 104-0. 😞 103-1? 1 1 Quote
Doohicksie Posted September 29, 2022 Report Posted September 29, 2022 This game looked like a bunch of AHLers who hadn't practiced enough. Which is pretty much what it was. Quote

They don't field a team like that with the intention to NOT compete. They were looking for guys to step up and shine. It didn't happen this go around, but there are more preseason games left 🤷♂️ I agree though, it can be hard to judge these guys without some more NHL level talent mixed in Quote
