I've seen him ranked way too low for long enough and I'm not going to take it any more....

Time for Poltapov to receive some accolades.

He starts the KHL season on CSKA's 2nd Line with Vladislav Kamenev and Vitali Abramov   CSKA is typically one of the KHL's best teams.

10 mins in.  Earns his first penalty - Head Butting

i love this kid!

And game misconduct… so not exactly the start I wanted to see.  However, at least have  one of their top prospects fall into the “power” forward category

Head butting is not a good penalty.  Not very smart.

Oh well, maybe he has “grit”.  😂

I think the formula is… If you are taller than 6, 1” And check… Then you have grit. Smaller than that… Then they are just labeled as… Feisty.

I know absolutely nothing about this player, but I know that the Sabres have drafted a lot of smaller, skilled forwards and could use some bigger and/or more physical guys to balance out the lineup.  Perhaps this guy is that type of player.  Obviously, he has to be able to play hockey at an NHL level too, but every guy in the lineup doesn't need to score 25 goals and be an offensive star.

Didn't look egregious, he left his feet but the hit wasn't much.

Let me know when he scores 25 goals in the KHL and then we’ll talk.   Right now he is an unknown quantity.

If he scores 25 goals for CSKA you're never going to see him.

Could he be a V. Varada type player with maybe more offensive upside?

That's exactly how I described him, although Taro pointed out how Varada was actually a big producer as a prospect.

Head--butt--ing will be our delight for by headbutting we turn round right.

This team will need a Varada-esque player somewhere down the line. (And I include the PP2 goals and overall excellence in the 1999 playoffs in all my Varada statements.)

I dont think that’s going to happen to be honest.  You might be disappointed if you just look at goals scored

Unknown quantity?  I’m pretty sure that he is a quantity of one person.

His future as an NHL player, however, is an unknown entity.

That site you link to is interesting. Haven't seen them before.

They are pretty good on reporting rumors and posting breaking news, you just have to wade through the pop-ups

Ha, up until just now I've always read his name as Polpatov.

Lol me too, not even noticed until you just said so 😄

Should have kept his feet on the ice, would have been good then.
