Brawndo Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 (edited) H/T @bob_sauve28 for mentioning this in another thread. And there is reason to believe this is legit Edited August 30, 2022 by Brawndo 1 1 1
LGR4GM Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 About to meaning this week or before October?
Curt Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 I’m very interested in what this number comes in at. Is Tage giving a little discount because good vibes and he can lock in long term financial security? Are the Sabre completely confident that Tage will repeat his performance and want to lock him in long term at/near his asking price before he ascends to even higher levels?
Brawndo Posted August 30, 2022 Author Report Posted August 30, 2022 Norris 8 x 7.95 Million AAV Thomas 8 x 8.125 Million AAV

LGR4GM Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 6years,I can get to 6 years but I'm very adverse to 8 years for just about everyone 2
Flashsabre Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 I know some think Tage was a one year wonder but that shot and release doesn’t disappear. He will be a top player for a while here. I would like to see him locked up. You have to build a core foundation and he wants to be here and puts in the work to get better each season. 1
DarthEbriate Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Sounds good. Thompson has played 1 season as a center since becoming a professional. He'll improve defensively, he'll improve at faceoffs. If he then goes out and continues to shoot really well, make the occasional wildly good pass, and make Skinner into a 30G+ top-line winger... this contract could look fantastic for the next 3 years, and then even better as the cap rises.

dudacek Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Well, there goes my Thompson Expectations thread write-up all to hell…🤬 😜 3
Curt Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 $7.14M x 7 years is a great deal if Tage continues to be a 30+ goal, 55+ point center! 6 1

Wow, Thompson’s contract is the exact same length and AAV as that contract Vanek signed 15 years ago. 15 years ago! Edited August 30, 2022 by Curt 2
Pimlach Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Yes. This looks good. I think Tage is a beast and we get to see him reach his potential, which I think is higher than last season. 3 1

dudacek Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 This is a fantastic deal. 6’7” 38-goal centres who can skate don’t grow on trees. We’ve got him for his entire prime. I was thinking it was going to take $8. It should have. Well done Adams. 5 1
DarthEbriate Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 I like it. Give Tage an entire season of either healthy-VO or healthy-Tuch for some more points, plus more experience as a center, stir, and serve on the rocks. Cheers to you, GM Sheevyn and congrats, Tager! 3
