Nah.  That's the REALLY tall bald guy.  The one that worked with the short old lady that smoked too much.

Is he the guy who shows a lot of potential but is a slow skater?  And he's not eligible for the AHL this year, right?  It's either WHL or NHL?

In any case, team captain, 2nd-team all-star and 33rd in the WHL in scoring in his D+1 season (remembering that Savoie was 7th and was in his D+0 season -- yeah baby!) isn't too shabby for anyone, let alone a 7th-rounder.

Also, he's from Souris, Alberta (population:  1876).

Mike Peca waxed poetic about the kid. I’ll trust that dude over just about any talent evaluator.

You’re thinking of Nadeau.

Kozak is a late’02 so he can play in Rochester this year.

Starring Darren McGavin

Kojak starred Telly Savalas

Kozak is the 30 goal scoring 7th rd pick who is eligible for the AHL by about a week.

Are we clear?

You forgot the really big guy, Mr. Party Pooper.

Limited sample size, but in Portland @ Seattle this season, Kozak was the best and most noticeable player on the ice (minus Seattle's goalie). He was physical, he was fast and engaged, and one really nice assist. He isn't an offensive dynamo, but he's a 200' grinder with purpose.

No, you are thinking of the 4th round big Quebec kid Olivier Nadeau.

Kozak is the 7th round WHL kid.  He is slightly undersized at 5’11” and a little thin, but he popped in the WHL last season after being drafted.  He is pretty fast, a little feisty and decently skilled.  Looks like a really good 7th round pick likely to be an AHL player at least.

He is eligible to play in the AHL this coming season.

Excellent.  So if he’s eligible for the AHL now and had a very good year last year in the WHL, it seems likely that both the Sabres and he would prefer the AHL this coming season, innit?

The rumors of a bare cupboard in Rochester seem pretty exaggerated at this point.

Doesn’t he have to wait another year until he is 20 to play in the AHL?

He is an ‘02 born prospect, and is AHL eligible because he turns 20 this year. Bloom and Nadeau were also drafted in ‘21 but are ‘03 born, so they must return to the CHL. They have all signed their ELCs.
