DarthEbriate Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Musing: Does this open the door to re-sign Pysyk as #7 for veteran/locker room presence and forward flexibility, or do folks want Fitz as the #7 for his attitude (or Fitz to ROC to be a top call-up)? Or go get another UFA D? 1 Quote
LabattBlue Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Trouble staying healthy, or never good enough to play a regular top 6 role? At the NHL level prior to last season when he played 77 games... 18-19 41GP 19-20 51GP 20-21 42GP Quote
thewookie1 Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 This guy is defense, he takes the title of Defenseman to the orthodox extreme. Quote
apuszczalowski Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Another Meh signing Wasn't good enough for the Leafs, but if we are honest, that might be a good thing because what do they know about defence (and goaltending?) 1 Quote
Carmel Corn Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Hoping this guy can show some value on the penalty kills. I don't know him well, but wondering if he could be more effective than Joki on the PK? Quote

Of note, Toronto made massive strides defensively the past two seasons. They've been top half of the league in Goals Against the past 2 years. Quote

When we played the Laffs last year, he was the only Dman that stuck out to me in a defensive sense. 1 Quote
NAF Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 He played with Rielly in Toronto, maybe will play with Power in Buffalo? From the few games we saw with Power, he likes to jump up into the play, much like Rielly. 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 I like saying Power-Joker. But Power-Lyub has its merits. But what about... unLyubushkinited Power!!!!!! 4 Quote

Or go get another UFA D? Possibly, but Fitz is making this team. He adds a hard charging attitude this team needs. Right now we have 4 LHDs and 3 RHD, but Dahlin is playing on the right. Almost seems more likely that he get a defensively responsible LHD for depth or gives Pilut a chance to make the roster. Quote

K-9 Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Thought he had a very strong series vs the Lighting in the playoffs. Hadn’t seen much of him before then, but I liked what I saw against Tampa. 1 Quote
