steveoath Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 (edited) Great signing. From Buffalo News: Ilya Lyubushkin: The 28-year-old isn’t flashy and won’t contribute much offensively, but he’s reliable defensively, particularly when trying to stifle an opponent’s rush offense. He’s a right-handed shot, cheap at a projected $836,000 for one year, and it wouldn’t hurt for the Sabres to have a Russian NHLer after they selected six players from the country over the past two drafts. Flashsabre Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Perfect signing. RHD that is defensive and physical 2 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Adds depth. Not exactly a top 4 D. Quote
dudacek Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Exactly what they were looking for. Right-handed, physical. 2 2 Quote

steveoath Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 So Mule-Dahlin Power-Lyubushkin Happy with that top 4. 2 1 Quote
mjd1001 Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Don't know much about him. Read a little in the past couple minutes. Fine with the signing as a bottom 2 guy or 7th-8th guy. Quote
Brawndo Posted July 13, 2022 Author Report Posted July 13, 2022 Granato will be yelling Nyet, Nyet when He approaches the offensive zone 6 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 (edited) This works. Someone with the proper accounts will need to pop up all his various charts and usage info, but he fits the mold of what we're looking for without the Rutta/Manson name recognition because they made it to the Final. (or the cost) @Brawndo even beat me with the chart to my charts comment. What the hell!? Edited July 13, 2022 by DarthEbriate Quote
WhenWillItEnd66 Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Defensive physical defenseman. A RHD to boot. Definitely helps. Quote

dudacek Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Good collateral benefit: we now have a veteran Russian to help with our pending influx. 2 1 Quote

breese866 Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Physical? Can he take any of the pugilistic duties on? Quote
Thorner Posted July 13, 2022 Report Posted July 13, 2022 Samuelsson - Dahlin Power - Jokiharju Bryson - Lyubushkin - - - Roster looks pretty much filled in now 1 4 Quote

Better question, will he be a more stabilizing partner for Power than Jokiharju was or Pysyk would've been? Really want him paired with a guy that can let him try the things that will quicken his development w/out getting bit in the arse for it every time. And if Jokiharju can improve in those aspects of his game, then let the competition for 4D be on. Quote
