For the caps don't they save money with Backstrom on IR?

Yes but the GM said they expect Backstrom back at some point this year so they can’t replace his money.Who knows but that is what he said last week.

Caps are $2 million over the cap.

Lightning are almost $8 million over the cap

Pens signed Caguillia and Tokarski😳

Zadorov back to Calgary

Hahahahahaha Zadorov is so wanted and desired he could only get a job in Calgary again. Soooo glad KA didn’t grab that idiot. Watch the untimely stupid penalties rage on in Calgary.

You still need to be under the cap on opening day.  You can’t put a player on LTIR until after the season starts.

That's the way it's written in the CBA, but the league lets teams place a player on BF-LTIR on day 1 and if the team isn't over the cap by more than that LTIR'd salary they seem to let it fly even though they may not have made the paper transaction of waiving a bunch of young guys to be cap compliant w/out having that particular contract on LTIR.

Palat to New Jersey devils, looks like a 5 year 6M AAV but not confirmed on the amount.

Yep Capfriendly has it. Like the player would hate that deal if Buffalo signed him for that.

Guess they figured they had to spend some somewhere after they missed out on Goudreau.

Why? He's worth it by current NHL standards.

He is 31. Great deal for 2 years and then not so much
