SabresBillsFan Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 I know people didn’t want him to go to Arizona or Columbus but I did. Big market teams don’t have any issues selling tickets. It’s time to build up these smaller market teams. 1 Quote
Buffalonill Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 I have nothing against Chicago winning Just that they got rewarded for the biggest scandal in NHL history they should have been voided from the draft for that Quote

SabresBillsFan Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 Just now, Randall Flagg said: This worry is always overstated to me McDavid and Draisaitl are both probably better players than Bedard will be, and the two of them have led their team to a playoff series with home ice advantage just one time in their first six years (not counting covid crap since I don't know what the heck was happening there and the canadian division was garbage) Chicago has nothing right now Chicago just won how many cups years ago. Sorry but big markets have no issues selling tickets. Chicago did this tank on purpose just like Buffalo did but Buffalo never had the assets that Chicago had before they started to sell off. A handful of those players were in their mid 20’s. Quote
Carmel Corn Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 As usual with the NHL....something really fishy went on here and the fish stinks most from the head. 1 Quote

Scottysabres Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 Bedard and McDavid get to battle it out to see who will represent the Western Conference as runner up to the Eastern Conference Stanley Cup winning Buffalo Sabres for the next 15 years. 1 Quote

I agree, I don't understand why they don't show the balls fall as the whole card thing is convoluted as all heck. Quote
Crusader1969 Posted May 9, 2023 Author Report Posted May 9, 2023 The lottery should be an hour long show highlight a bunch of the prospects, not just 1 reveal only 3 or 4 teams at a time have a better reveal than an old man with a big card have more spots up for grabs (like they used to) 1 Quote

But McDavid has played 8 seasons and never even sniffed that to this point, why is that suddenly going to start now, and how will Chicago get there when their roster and prospect pool outside Bedard are probably both the worst in the NHL? That's not even to mention the franchise which hasn't seen a playoff series since Obama's first term Quote
Rasmus_ Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 13th is a decent area for a bunch of talent. Quote
Randall Flagg Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 Honestly I've seen better prospect highlights from a few guys over the years, not just McDavid. Not convinced I'd take him over Matthews at the same stage of development and maybe even a few other guys in the last 8 or so years Quote
Claude Balls Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 The NHL is very suspicious at times. The lottery seems so rigged. Buffalo wins the lottery twice, when the top prospects are defenseman? 1 Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted May 9, 2023 Report Posted May 9, 2023 .... and with the 13th pick in the 2023 NHL draft, the Buffalo Sabres trade the 13th overall pick (& 173) to Chicago for 18, 52 & 131. With 18th selection, the Sabres draft Hamburg native Quentin Musty. The Sabres then trade 39 & 52 to Stl for 30 & 106 With the 30th pick in the 1st rd, the Buffalo Sabres select Swedish defender Tom WIllander. Quote

The only draft since the Sabres decided to tank that would've been better to get 1st overall in '18 with Dahlin was the '15 draft where McDavid went 1st overall. Am not complaining about winning that one. (Not complaining about winning Power's lottery either, but there likely were better 1st overalls than in his year.) Hopefully the next time the Sabres end up in the top 3 of the draft is when they trade a stud that no longer fits into the big picture for a couple of #1's and one of them pops. 1 Quote

Sorry but you can not complain that the Sabres won when the prizes were Dahlin and Power Dahlin will be as important a 1st over all pick as anyone not named McDavid over the last 10 years 2 Quote
