LGR4GM Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Vanecek, Husso, MAF, I think I am missing someone. Have all been traded or signed in the last 24 hours. If anyone has the corresponding tweets to document this stuff, would be cool to post it. Just wanted to collect everything in one spot. 9 minutes ago, Brawndo said: 3 minutes ago, pastajoe said: Quote
Radar Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 The Husso deal maybe would have made sense for us. 4 minutes ago, LGR4GM said: Vanecek, Husso, MAF, I think I am missing someone. matter2003 Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Sabres need to get a goalie other than Anderson. Quote

Weave Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Looking more and more likely Anderson and UPL it is. This Fing sucks. 1 2 1 Quote

French Collection Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Is Cam Talbot available? I haven’t heard his name much, Fleury deal was team friendly but the Wild are tight against the cap. Quote
Brad_MI Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Obviously Husso could turn into Hutton version 2.0 but that 3 year deal at $4.75M, in our division, to a team not expected to make the playoffs this year, feels like a really big missed opportunity 2 1 Quote
Zamboni Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Well since this is a goalie thread… just to state it for a reference… A shallow free-agent goalie market got even thinner. Instead of letting “The Flower” sprout onto the UFA market, the Wild kept Marc-Andre Fleury in the fold. The Wild signed “MAF” with a two-year, $7 million deal ($3.5M per year). Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 Hopefully there is a plan or deal to be made in the works. We can’t possibly go into the season with Anderson/UPL. That’s a disaster waiting to happen. 2 Quote

Maybe KA goes after Gibson? However he needs to get moving on this. I wonder if Grier will part with Hill or Riemer? Edited July 8, 2022 by GASabresIUFAN Quote

sweetlou Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 UFA's of interest still for Sabres? Kuemper- 3 years $6-7million, no thanks Campbell- 4 years $5-6million, no thanks Holtby- 3 years $3-4 million, it might have to do Greiss- 1 year $2.5 million, if all else fails Trades Gibson- too long of term remaining at too high of an AAV, please God NO!!! Quick- I wouldn't mind for one year for a third rd pick Hill or Reimer- figure one of them has to be moved Talbot- does Wild move him to not have competition for MAF Hart- bit of a stretch but does Philly go for big UFA and trade Hart?? Allen- not really been a starter but could see 50/50 with Anderson 1 1 Quote
Eleven Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 And Adams is still waiting at the entrance to the carnival. 1 Quote

kas23 Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 We could’ve done that Husso deal, even if it ended up blowing up. 3 years is not a long time. Quote

PromoTheRobot Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) What's stopping us from offering RFA Oettinger a fat deal? These are last year's numbers but the Sabres could offer up to $4.1MM/AAV for 5 years and only end up owing Dallas a 2nd round pick. You could go $6.1MM/AAV for 5 and lose a 1st and 3rd. https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2021/6/28/22554643/2021-offer-sheet-compensation-set-nhl-rfa-rules-picks-aav-calculation What about keeping the path clear for your prospects? To me that's secondary if Oettinger plays well. And if he doesn't you still have UPL, Levi and Leinonen in the pipeline. Edited July 8, 2022 by PromoTheRobot Quote
GoPuckYourself Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 I knew it would be difficult for the Sabres to find a quality G. I don’t think GMKA is sitting on his hands but I think it’s going to be tough. Most G with a NMC probably have Buffalo on the no trade list, a quality FA probably wants to play for a contender so maybe a guy like Holtby with something to prove would want to come here? Quote
