Like him, but is it it? He’s kinda riding his rookie year as far as his reputation.

Tage had 23 more goals and nine more points than Barzal last year. 19 goals and 62 points are his career highs since that amazing first year.

22nd-highest scoring centre over the past 4 years and he’s been healthy. Sam Reinhart, for example, has more points over that span.

I'm not sure if you are serious or joking.

He is a good player, a VERY good player. But I think this is a major over-pay.  He is already in the prime of his career, the most goals he has ever scored was 22 in full season (and that was 6 years ago).  He has never since scored over 20 and last year he played most of a full season (73 games) and only scored 15 during a year when league scoring was WAY up.  He was tied for 186th in the league in goals last year, and if you include his rookier year (which was his best year) for his career there are 132 players who have scored more goals than him.  If you want to count assists also, he is still only 62nd in the league in total 'points'.

Again, he is good, he is very good, he puts up assists, but I can't see paying a player what is going to be about 10% or more of your cap (over the contract length) when he has scored over 20 goals once in his career.  If you value his 2 way play, he is a good leader, and he puts up 40+ assists in addition to his 15-20 goals then fine, pay him 7% of your cap, maybe 8%.  But $9+ million dollar contracts have to be reserved for guys that will net you at least 30 on a consistent basis and bring those other things too.

If Comrie and Forsberg are more or less equal (the backup with decent numbers in limit starts looking to be their team's new starter)...  can Buffalo's backups (Anderson/UPL) outperform the Sens' 2/3 goalies (just claimed Magnus Hellberg off waivers) for the 5ish games that he might play?

Note: Ottawa does not have a single back-to-back scheduled until December 17-18, by which time Talbot is back. Is Forsberg gassed by then from carrying the entire load?

But the Sabres are going to be slightly worse this years according to everyone (nationally) even though they dumped a guy who will be out of the league but was playing important minutes last year for them.

Yeah Comrie, UPL, Power, Lyubushkin, Quinn, JJ and a healthy Mitts will be a downgrade on the Tokarski, Dell, Butcher, Miller, Eakin, Hayden juggernaut of last season

Watching Kings/VGK preseason game in Salt Lake City.  It was 3-2 VGK.  LAK almost tied it up but the puck was picked out of the air as it went toward the goal by the VGK and the Knights skated down and scored the other way.

On replay it was obvious the Kings had scored, but apparently they are doing replays during the preseason.  Had it been the regular season it would have been tied 3-3 but without replay the VGK currently lead 4-2.
