Edit to the Edit: So.... VGK gained "future considerations" to get rid of Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki, Max Pacioretty, a 2nd (LW Samuel Fagemo, LAK at #50 overall after a bunch of trades), and Dylan Coghlan (Coughlin sp?)

That's another savvy move by Carolina and another painted-themselves-into-a-corner move by Vegas.

Pacioretty turns 34 in November, but he was still pretty productive last year (19-18-37 in 39 games) and the year before that, and he's only got 1 year left at $5.25MM.  Carolina got him, plus Coghlan, a 24-year-old 3rd pairing Dman who played 59 games for VGK last year, for nothing.

VGK gets "future considerations"

CAR gets F Max Pacioretty, D Dylan Coghlan, and the 2021 3rd #94 D Aidan Hreschuk (CAR ended up with the pick via DET)

MTL gets C Nick Suzuki, F Tomas Tatar

LAK gets 2019 2nd #50 F Samuel Fagemo

DET gets 2018 1st #30 C Joe Veleno and 2021 2nd #54 F Mastrosimone

I am scratching my head with that Vegas move. They couldn't find a team to trade any kind of pick for patches who could then flip him to someone else while retaining salary?
