How else do you explain guys like Brandon Hagel? I believe players can develop their game without any exposure to the AHL. That being said, the AHL definitely serves a purpose for “non-elite” prospects. Quote

TNT spent parts for 4 different seasons in the A. Quote

French Collection Posted April 16, 2023 Report Posted April 16, 2023 Savoie with 2 assists but the Ice lose to the Warriors in game 2. Nadeau with an assist as Gatineau takes 2 games to 0 lead. Komarov with an assist as Quebec takes a 2-0 lead in their series. Quote

ICE take a 5-min major and then a minor and give up 3 PP goals in the first period and a 4-0 deficit overall. Savoie aggressive on the PK, but not at fault on the 2 PP goals allowed he was on for. A good stretch pass for one of the assists. Nadeau with an assist as Gatineau takes 2 games to 0 lead. Good gravy! Gatineau outshot Rouyn-Noranda 59-12. The Huskies had 4 shots in each period and were 0/4 on the PP. No highlights to report. Komarov with an assist as Quebec takes a 2-0 lead in their series. Komarov's assist was on a nice short pass zone entry on his part. The goal was one the goalie and defender would want back -- one of those out beyond the circles "if you're not going to block it, get out of the way so the goalie sees it all the way" ones. dudacek Posted April 23, 2023 Report Posted April 23, 2023 Sure sounded like the Sabres will be doing what they can to bring Neuchev and Novikov over this year. 1 Quote

Wouldn't that be nice. I'd love to see Neuchev on the Amerks. FYI all 4 remaining Sabres CHL prospects remain alive in the playoffs in their respective leagues Savoie's Wpg Ice are up 3-2 over Moose Jaw. Matt has 9g and 16 pts in 9 playoff games so far (3g 4a in this series). Their next game is Monday. Lindgren's Red Deer Rebels lead 3-2 over Saskatoon, but lead this series 3-0, before losing the last 2. Mats has 2g and 6a in 10 playoff games so far, but only 1a in this series. They play tomorrow. Over in the Q, Nadeau's Gatineau Olympiques buried the Huskies 4-0 and by a collective score of 23-4. Nadeau had 7 goals in the series. Komarov's Quebec Rampants also won in 4 straight. Komarov was +4 with 2a and 9 hits. 3 1 Quote
French Collection Posted April 24, 2023 Report Posted April 24, 2023 QMJHL semi finals are set. Quebec vs Gatineau means Nadeau or Komarov will be out of the next round but it means one of them gets to the league finals. Halifax and Sherbrooke is the other matchup. Quote

Flashsabre Posted April 25, 2023 Report Posted April 25, 2023 Kamloops plays Seattle which will be a battle of the titans. The winner plays the Winner of the Winnipeg-Red Deer/Saskatoon Series. Kamloops hosts the Memorial Cup this year. It means that if Kamloops makes it to the WHL finals then whoever plays them gets into the Memorial Cup as well. So If Kamloops beats Seattle and Winnipeg wins and faces them then both teams are in regardless of the final series. If Seattle wins and plays Winnipeg then the winner of that series is in along with Kamloops. Hopefully Savoie makes it to the Memorial Cup as it would be great for his development. 1 Quote

Yes, Kamloops is in the Memorial Cup regardless of how they perform. They are the host so that guarantees a spot. Saint John Seadogs won the Cup last year even though they were eliminated in the first round in the Q playoffs. If Gatineau makes it that would be 2 years in a row for Nadeau, he was with Shawinigan last year. A strange occurrence for Saint John was the firing of their coach after the first round loss. The team hired a new coach and had a month of practices before the Memorial Cup. Edited April 25, 2023 by French Collection Quote

French Collection Posted April 25, 2023 Report Posted April 25, 2023 Josh Bloom is no longer a Sabres prospect but because he plays near me I have watched most of his playoff games. He is on a good team but is now basically a third liner. He has 7 points in 12 games, about half of his regular season pace. He plays on both special teams but is not a real important piece. He might develop into an NHL player but I think the Sabres will get more out of Stillman than they would have with Bloom. 3 Quote
