That was why I don't think it was an accident that the colours of the jerseys for the antagonists in the third Mighty Ducks movie were the same as these. 1 Quote

sabills Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 I've come to like them in a nostalgic way, but I hated the color change. Such a 90's decision, where the only colors were black, red and teal. 2 Quote
Pimlach Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 I am over it now. The teams that wore the Goat played hard and did well. 4 Quote
Hawerchuk Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 I didn't mind the Goathead. They definitely modeled the color scheme after Adelphia Cable 100%. But it was way better than the BuffASlug, I'm sure we can all agree. Quote

The color change and rebrand was done under the Knox ownership and stewardship, the fact that the next owners company used those colors was coincidence. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted April 14, 2022 Report Posted April 14, 2022 I loved them as I've said many times because they were very similar to the old Hamilton high school uniforms I wore back i n the 1970's (Hill Park Rams). One time Sabre Ron Roscoe would agree 🙂 Quote

I agree that the logical connection between the new colors and Adelphia is dubious, but the idea is based on the fact that Rigas had invested 15 million dollars in the Sabres in 1994. And his sports network secured the rights to games around the same time. He wouldn't assume operational control until 1998 and didn't officially own the team until 2000. https://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/stories/2000/07/24/daily19.html Edited April 14, 2022 by PASabreFan 1 Quote
