Hockey culture demands that players say they are focused on their current teams, therefore you will never hear a college player say "I am going pro as soon as I can."

Sabrefan psychology says "if something can go wrong it will."

Therefore, we will be treated to anxious posts until a player actually signs, regardless of the fact we haven't seen any indication of Portillo, Power, Johnson or Levi not wanting to start their career here.

I counted 24 college players drafted by the Sabres since 2000. Petersen is the only one who walked.

Power is only signing to immediately start playing for the Sabres.  He will never play a game in Rochester

Vogl on the Athletic tweeted the same thing for all 3 guys.  He said they’ll burn a year regardless if they suit up or not because they are all 20+.

He's not playing tonight that would be absurd. Either Tampa Sunday or Toronto next. Not that either offer an easier first game.

it was a joke, although defending Toronto's or TB's offenses is no easy task either.
