Popular Post Stoner Posted April 6, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Since some of the following have been treated like human piñatas by this board, yours truly included, over the broadcast, previous ceremonies, game presentation, etc., it's only fair to give them some limelight, and their own thread. Great reporting by Alan Pergament of the News: "It is time to throw a little credit around for those involved in a top shelf production put together by people who work for the Sabres and Pegula Sports and Entertainment and deserve an Emmy Award. The video piece about what Jeanneret has meant to the Sabres and their fans narrated by Danny Gare, the former Sabres star and broadcaster, was written by Michelle Girardi-Zumwalt. It featured former Sabres, broadcasters and fans talking about Jeanneret’s appeal and concluded with Gare saying this memorable line about RJ. “Your name will hang in the rafters, but your voice will echo forever.” Drew Boeing and Kelsey Barrick wrote the flow of the overall ceremony. Chrisanne Bellas worked closely on the ceremony and the timing. Scott Balzer shot most of the video footage that was edited by Andy Quinn. Rich Jureller coordinated with most of the alumni. Jourdon LaBarber wrote several parts of the ceremony script. The cinematographers were Nina Lindberg and Marc Davies." Edited April 6, 2022 by PASabreFan 7 4 Quote

Well done by the team. 2 2 Quote
Punch Posted April 6, 2022 Report Posted April 6, 2022 This really was a great line, so kudos to Michelle Girardi-Zumwalt for writing it (and Gare for delivering it): “Your name will hang in the rafters, but your voice will echo forever.” It's terrific that Pergament shared these name, I like to see attention paid to the many people responsible behind the scenes. It's especially fitting in this instance because we've heard about many unsung contributors in technical roles only because of RJ recognizing them on broadcasts throughout the years. 3 Quote
msw2112 Posted April 6, 2022 Report Posted April 6, 2022 The project was very well done indeed. The Sabres have had their share of PR/Marketing types of gaffes in recent years (misspelling alumni names on jerseys, selling a hat where the primary logo was "BS" and the like), so it's great to see something done right. They really hit it out of the park with this event. 2 Quote
