Erik Portillo has a chance to lead his team to a Frozen Four tournament championship.

The kid is criminally underrated by Sabres fans. He is the MVP and best player on an All Star team and allows them to play their run and gun style like Fuhr did for the Oilers in the 80s.

6’6 and the vocal leader of his team.

Kid has a bright future and we need to show him some love.

Here is hoping for a Frozen Four Championship and then the Twin Towers, Power and Portillo joining the Sabres soon after.

I think it's because Levi has such gaudy numbers.

I personally would be OK with our goaltenders in 2023-4 being, in alphabetical order, Levi, Pekka-Lukkonen, Portillo, and Subban with maybe a vet helping on the Sabres if they still need seasoning.

To me it’s similar to the Quinn/Peterka situation. Like Peterka, Portillo is a very good prospect worth getting excited about. Like Quinn, Levi is doing extraordinary things.

I expect Portillo to sign and look forward to seeing what he can do in Rochester next year.

C’mon Portillo, win the frozen four and sign on the dotted line. I want to see a goalie prospect develop in the pro ranks.
