Stoner Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 Kind of a tough spot for Rick, because he pretty much said it all upon being inducted into the team's hall of fame. It'll be tough to top the perfectly delivered - THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I EVER. WANTED. TO BE! I think among other things, he'll try and buck up the fans and implore people to take this group into their hearts as they've done so many times. Hell, if Rick asks me, I might even do it. I rate it as highly unlikely to happen, but a mic drop moment would be: "You've wanted me to say it for 51 years, so I will, but for one huge reason: these Sabres are going to do it: THE BUFFALO SABRES HAVE WON THE STANLEY CUP!" And that'll get played when they actually do it. I think the Jumbotron might fall again if he says it. The house would certainly come down. 4 1 Quote

LGR4GM Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 I think Rick acknowledges the fans and difficulties. He'll talk about his career and how humbled he is. I think he will talk about the Sabres winning a cup in the future. 2 minutes ago, PASabreFan said: Rick doesn't drink. 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted April 1, 2022 Report Posted April 1, 2022 Most of his thank you’s will be to the fans.    He knows the days when sell out crowds were the norm.  He knows and lived the entire range of joy and pain the fans have experienced.  He will be touched by a sell out crowd, the only one in several years, and they are there for him.   2 1 Quote
