Flashsabre Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 Adams is there. Maybe he has Levi locked in a room with a pen and a contract.😁 1

Crusader1969 Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 What will be your mood if he decides to go back to school? 1) cool, right decision - see you in a year 2) not cool, want to see him in pro hockey 3) Nervous, is this Cal Peterson part 2?
GASabresIUFAN Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 He may go back to school as NE is a very young team which should be good again next year. Also, despite all the injuries, the team has healthy goalies at all 3 levels. They also have to negotiate the $ and whether they will born year 1 or not. My guess is he signs for 1st rd money, plays all 3 years on an ELC, and reports to Rochester on an ATO. If an ATO, the Sabres are probably going to have to buy some sort of insurance to protect him financially from injury.

Roy was his hero, as he was for many youth. His dream is not to play for the Canadiens. Where do you get this stuff.

Levi is a smart kid and is aware of the business of hockey. He will do what is in his best interest. From the outside it would seem to be signing a pro contract as soon as possible and get the clock running on his entry level contract. In the end, he will do what he feels is in his best interest. Odds are that he will sign a pro contract sooner than later. Just my opinion. Edited March 26, 2022 by JohnC
GoPuckYourself Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 If he elects to go back to go back I'm guessing he won't be signing here. What a disaster that would be for this organization.

Between the taxes, weather, and ridiculous media pressure, it’s unattractive to many.
woods-racer Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 If he goes back to school he still has a 99% chance of signing, he's still only a sophomore. If he doesn't sign next year he has to go another year (end off his senior year) before he can become a UFA. He then has to wait till Aug 15th of his senior year (2.5 months into free agency) before he can declare himself an UFA. Those lost years are never made up contract wise. Their careers are so short that missing a year or two to play college hockey is financially one of those dumbest moves to make. Devon going back for his Junior year because he thinks they will have a great shot at winning it all will cost him financially.

Seems that Roberto Luongo was a bigger influence on him in Florida. If anything he could say F U SABRES!! I ain't playin' for you. And head back to Florida, but I will go on record that it will not happen.

It’s the 3rd youngest team in the NCAA with a bunch of good developing players including Jack Hughes who will be a late 1st rd or early second rd pick. If you watched the game you saw them get dominated in the first but carry play for much of the next 2 periods against one of the top 4 and most veteran teams in college. kas23 Posted March 26, 2022 Report Posted March 26, 2022 If Levi doesn’t sign now and Portillo does, Levi will automatically be behind the 8 ball. Portillo having a full pro year over him will likely decrease him landing a starting spot on the Sabres, unless Portillo really stinks it up or UPL isn’t on our roster in 1-2 years. Why temp fate, just sign and get in line. The first guy in Buffalo is going to have an advantage that’s present regardless of skill. 1
