Hard to believe Vegas wil be forced to dump some really good players to clear cap space for Jack. Quote

I think Vegas would have been okay with their 5 year plan if they didn’t trade a lot of draft picks and then the Pacioretty deal which was brutal. Plus here in Vegas the dumping of Fleury was the downfall. Future hall of famer who loved Vegas and he was the fan favorite here. Ex GM McPhee and McKimmon have done a great job of ***** up this team with all these big contracts and brutal trades. 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted March 17, 2022 Author Report Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) You are a new franchise and you traded away 75% of your cheap young talent, bold strategy cotton. Edited March 17, 2022 by LGR4GM Quote

DarthEbriate Posted March 17, 2022 Report Posted March 17, 2022 On the plus side for Vegas, if Lehner goes to LTIR, it would allow them to acquire a goalie OR activate D Alec Martinez if he gets healthy enough. Not likely both. Or... if they can move $4M at the trade deadline they could get a cheap goalie and activate Stone from LTIR down the stretch. 3 minutes ago, Marvin, Sabres Fan said: Maybe the cap goes up to $100M next season and they are fine. The cap will not go up appreciatively until that's settled. 15 minutes ago, bunomatic said: How long before Jack wants out ? I understand what you mean, but the wins still count and the goalie is part of the team. Main point though: you described a Rangers team gutting it’s prospect pool to acquire big names. The current rangers team has not done that, so I think it’s reasonable to wonder what Rangers teams you were talking about. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 If you were running the LV franchise, given the injuries cap issues and place in the standings, would you become a seller at the deadline and try to fall out of the playoffs and hope to keep your pick? Quote

Most of the last decade has involved the Rangers trading picks or overpaying top ufas. That was my only point, not sure why we're getting in the weeds on this. Yes, wins still count but the Rangers are not good. Their goaltending is the holding pin holding that ship together. Quote
