Zemgus will be a good addition.

Too bad for Jankowski, I still prefer him to Eakin. Sounds like Eakin is good in the room, not many games are won in the room though.

Have to wonder if his practice face off tutorials are really that impactful?

I’d prefer it to be Bjork but this had to be done now that healthy forwards are coming back. Just have to hope he passes through waivers so the Amerks get a top-6 player for the stretch.

Send Bjork too. He could help them in the playoffs imo

For all the grief we give Eakin he really seems to be a big part of the Sabres growing into a good team.  For all his issues on the ice he is bringing a lot of important things to the team.  I would not be surprised if he is not traded at or near the deadline.

There.  I said it.

I know Inky is slobbering all over him these days.  Am I right @inkman ??

As much as he's hated amongst the fans, he's loved by his teammates.

I remember the 1937 Red Wings, won a Stanley Cup because the entire team loved each other so much. Didn't even need to play a game they just loved themselves into Cup winners.

Not what I'm saying.

Regardless of whether you or I like the man, his teammates obviously do and there's nothing you can do about it.

And....this team isn't competing for the cup this season.

As long as they don't re-sign him, I'm good.

Amerks need Jankowsi more than they need Bjork

Bjork should be next in line to get waived

I don’t think that will happen.  Money and contract reasons and all that.  Wouldn’t be shocked if he gets traded though.

So can Meul and Fitz (once healthy), and after we've seen enough development for the season from them.

I know a lot of heat has been thrown towards Eakin BUT I think Bjork was an anchor.    Im interested to see Eakin for the remainder of the season with Okposo and Girgs

This was the opening night line. But all I can think these months later is... don't saddle those two with Eakin, faceoffs or not. Or more appropriately, don't saddle Okposo with those two. (Even though I want Asplund to re-gel with VO and Mitts and become a solid line, I'd rather Okposo get Mitts-VO and have Asplund with limited minutes on a 4th line.)

Agreed wholeheartedly on both points.

  • Brawndo changed the title to Mark Jankowski Clears Waivers

One JAG down and so many more to go.

Skinner Thompson Tuch

Olofsson Mitts Asplund

Krebs Cozens Hinostroza

Girgensons Eakin Okposo

Dahlin Joki

Samuelsson Pysyk

Bryson Miller

Anderson

Our probable starting lineup in Edmonton is as JAG-free as we've seen all year.

Sending a player down who hasn’t been in the AHL in years is a heap load of disrespect. I can’t possibly imagine the Sabres, who are cultivating a positive vibe culture, would even fathom the idea.

Swap Kyle and Asplund.  I know you are thinking of last season with that second line,  but Asplund has not earned it, and Kyle is playing good hockey.
