The broadcast with Gretzky in the booth was terrible. The broadcast was more about Gretzky's reminisces than it was about the game. I usually like Albert doing hockey games. It just seemed that the announcers were deferring to Gretzky instead of covering the game. The jolly jabs at Jonesy got tiresome and were inane.

The commentators weren’t even watching the game.  They spent the entire game kissing up to Wayne.  They acted surprise when Vinnie scored as if they didn’t even realize the game was going.  They weren’t homers, they thought they were in a bar with Gretzky having a beer.

That was fun. Definitely feels like they're growing up/growing together. There'll still be bumps in the road as they continue roster building, but it feels like a corner has been turned.

I loved it, a Sabres win is great. A win against the Leafs is even better.

Dahlin doesn't take #### from no one no more. 

Cozens taking care of Dahlin's issue with Matthews cleanly; loved seeing how he stuck around with the team after being tossed. Was rather hilarious.

Krebs shot the puck, guess he figured out that the ice wasn't exactly great for 200 passes.

Hinostroza being the JAG+ who could; he's been a pleasant surprise this year.

Anderson gave up a bad one to Matthews but robbed him twice. Otherwise very solid and certainly calms the team.

Absolutely. Ron MacLean asked for a rerun of the tape and they went silent. It was an obvious intent to injure but Bieksa even said "Matthews is a star in the league and it will give George something to think about maybe not a suspension".

Refreshing?  That was far from honest announcing.  Most of the time they didn’t even cover the play by play.  The between period team was pro Toronto and they admitted. It.

As you noted it seemed that the game was an afterthought while the focus was on Gretzky reminisces. It was horrible.

He was truly excellent.  I think I saw 4-5 stick checks that broke up Toronto rushes.

There was nothing honest about it.  You expect RJ and Ray to homers, they work for the Sabres.  TNT was a United States national broadcast and it was an abomination.  If the goal was to promote hockey in the USA they failed.  Young fans don’t want a history of Wayne Gretzky lesson when there should be play by play describing the action and the players on the ice. 
 

The crew between periods was biased to Toronto, and they told you that if you were listening. 
 

But if you liked it so be it.

Can someone in the media please ask Dahlin what happened at the All Star game to make him flip the switch. He has been terrific the second half and engages physically regularly now.

Great game. Love seeing the kids like Krebs, Cozens, Samuelsson continue to grow.
