To win like this, at this stage of the season, on the road, is impressive. I certainly can’t think of a more impressive win over the past few years. 3 Quote

Now if they could play with that fire every night. Just think those Leafs fans paid $500 per seat to watch that beat down.  No way the Leafs come close to the Cup with that defense. Cup? They will probably play TB or Florida in the first round. Does anyone take the Leafs over TB, Florida or Carolina in a playoff series? With that goaltending? 1 Quote

Curt Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 Great win. Â I wonder what leafs fans were muttering to each other as they filed out of the building. Quote
Flashsabre Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 Great game. Everyone played well. Dahlin is really starting to look like a special player. Top line keeps punching along. Really likes Cozens tonight. VOs line played well. Samuelsson is starting to look like he will be a very solid D that brings an aspect to the backend that they desperately need. 5 Quote

GoPuckYourself Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) Great win there, anytime we beat the Leafs it's good times! A few takes from the game: This was definitely the best games in a long while for Skinner and Jacob Bryson. I have been down on Bryson who is looked very average at times but this was a very solid game. Skinner looked like the 50 goal scorer from a few years ago on this night and he was having fun out there which was great to see. Rasmus Dahlin- Again I don't know what happened at the all star break but he is night and day better, showing his toughness not letting anyone get away with cheao shots to our goalie or teammates, playing a much better defensive game also. I see a few comments about him not being tough enough blah blah blah but this is a totally different Dahlin from before the all star break, nobody is going to tell me otherwise. I'm really getting excited for the arrival of Owen Power joining the team soon, I'm not going to act like i know the exact date but more announcers from other teams are acknowledging it so I'm guessing soon. Mattias Samuelsson is really turning into a solid defensemen, I liked him when we drafted him and he was a bit out of position on that goal we gave up tonight but I love the diving for blocked shots and getting the puck out of our zone quickly and calmly. If we can add a few RHD and a solid veteran goalie in FA I think this defense is going to be a bitch to play against soon. I know Casey Middlestadt has been injured but even from last year I'm not really seeing much more than an average player. The announcer for the Leafs stated Middlestadt might be playing wing because he's getting his legs back but I just don't think he's good enough at C imo. He has time to turn it around but he doesn't hit, doesn't go to the boards to try to get pucks, doesn't go in front of the net, I'm not a fan...Yet! Edited March 3, 2022 by GoPuckYourself 2 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 Can't expect this every game (even good teams don't do this every game...) but if we can get this effort and attack in half the games the remainder of the year, we'll have a lot more happiness going into next season. 2 1 Quote

I like Bryson and he did have a good game, but I wonder about how he fits on the team going forward. Dahlin has been great.  He started coming on even before the break. Power will be in Buffalo as soon as Michigan’s season is over. Samuelsson certainly brings something that this group needs.  I can see him being a very important piece for quite a long time. I think we need to let Mittelstadt have some time before knowing what is there.  He finished last season great.  I think he has been better at C than W throughout his career. 3 Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted March 3, 2022 Report Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) So at the start of the 3rd I put $5 on my betting app for the Leafs to come back and win. I figured I would put 2 irresistible forces against each other: the Sabres inability to hold a 2-goal lead, against my inability to win a bet. Edited March 3, 2022 by PromoTheRobot 1 3 1 Quote
