Respectable game by our boys tonight when we really shouldn't of had a chance. Great effort. If not for the 2 goal net result of the bad ref call debacle, we could have actually won.

Now time to get some rest boys and kick some Vegas butt!

..... where it's kid's night and they're having kids on doing the interview/play-by-play...  Is it better than Dunleavy-watching-a-TV-screen-from-Buffalo? No. But, it's not worse.

No, it's better.  Better than Dunleavy.  BY A MILE.

Ray saying the didn’t have the legs they had last night seems like BS to me.

Last night was easy. Tonight was not. They played their ***** off.

F the result, I feel really really good about what I saw tonight. This was a very very different team with a very very different attitude to the one that Colorado ran out of the rink (Nelson - sigh) . We were in this all the way and we showed grit and fight and it was an overall gutsy performance.

I am reluctant to jump on a bandwagon, been dumped off before and my old knees can't take that, but this just might look like we're finally turning the corner.

I wanted to see Samuelsson drop them instead of Kyle but good on Kyle for his effort. I am optimistic tonight.

Everything is bad with this team... even our play by play

Rule 618 | Handling Puck with Hands

(a) Play shall be stopped and a last play face-off shall occur anytime a player (except the goalkeeper) closes his hand on the puck and does not immediately drop the puck to the ice.
A minor penalty for delay of game shall be assessed to any player, other than the goalkeeper, who picks the puck up from the ice with his hand(s) while play is in progress.
A penalty shot/optional minor penalty shall be awarded to the non-offending team anytime a defending player, other than the goalkeeper, picks the puck up off the ice with his hand or holds the puck while play is in progress and the puck is in the goal crease. If this infraction occurs while the goalkeeper has been removed from the ice and prevents and obvious and imminent goal, a goal shall be awarded to the non-offending team.

(Note) For the purpose of this rule, the goal crease shall extend from the ice to the top of the crossbar of the goal frame.

(b) A player or goalkeeper shall not be allowed to “bat” the puck in the air, or push it along the ice with his hand, directly to a teammate unless the “hand pass” has been initiated and completed in his defending zone, in which case play shall be allowed to continue. If the “hand pass” occurs in the neutral or attacking zone, a stoppage of play will occur and a face-off will take place according to last play face-off rules provided no territorial advantage has been gained.

he literally batted the puck, in the air in the offensive zone.  How is it NOT a hand pass?

but it did not go off his hand, it was instantly clear it was his forearm

While this is technically correct, if you replayed *every* hand pass called over the last, say, week, I bet a significant number also went off a forearm.  They call that way EVERY time but not here.

Felt like the refs tried to bury us but our team just clawed away at the dirt. They fought with ever decreasing numbers on the bench and arguably made the Avs goalie win them the game.

Liked seeing Granato all fired up, as the tweet earlier said; he’s fighting for his guys!

I liked how on the final PP Dahlin decided to just shoot seeing as we were out of shooters besides Okposo’s sweet spot play.

Killing off a long 5v3 was awesome to see for us.

Tuch certainly adds something to this team’s psyche.

Okposo should get the C next year, if only because the guy has worked his ass off for this team. He’s overpaid but it is certainly not for a lack of trying.

Hopefully the thin air was the cause for Mitts being pulled off. He never looked up to speed but Granato’s press conference seems to conclude that the trainers pulled him off for more precautionary reasons.

Play like this every night please!

Actually I think Tuch should get the C. He’s a younger leader who sets a good example. Okposo can have an A, but who knows at his age how much playing time he’ll get next year.

I don't think there's any doubt Tuch should get the C but there's no point in moving any letters this season. The attitude is finally changing, and I have to believe Tuch is the main reason. The A's go to the younger players who have shown the work ethic and leadership on and off the ice. I think one is Cozens, not sure on the other.

Kyle will be on his way out one way or another so I applaud his effort but he's not part of this moving forward. At least I doubt it.

Not instantly at all.  I watched the Avs broadcast and they called it a hand pass during the replay review.  I watched it from all angles after the game in slow mo and nothing was obvious.
