Murray is good (in the AHL at least) at getting to and burying rebounds, and taking pass in tight and spitting the puck back out to a perimeter shooter.

I'd like to see him get more time in that role in Buffalo. Murray doesn't skate particularly well, he doesn't shoot the puck very well, he's not a setup guy, doesn't make his teammates better. Hands are average at best, doesn't contribute defensively. He fills a role at this time (net front/size), but if the braintrust have identified him as part of the "solution" moving forward, we're in trouble. My forecast: career AHL'er with short stint call-ups when Buffalo is contending for a playoff spot. Do better. 1
