It really humanized him for me. I remember him on the Thanksgiving games back when I was a kid after dinner at grandma's house. Great memories. RIP, John. Quote
Claude Balls Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 Could you imagine him as a hockey broadcaster?? Lol Quote
Taro T Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 He pretty much revolutionized color commentary. He also revolutionized sports video games. RIP 2 Quote
KC Scouts Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 (edited) I remember watching Madden's Raiders as a kid, they were badass and I loved them. Edited December 29, 2021 by KC Scouts Quote
Norcal Posted December 29, 2021 Report Posted December 29, 2021 RIP Mr. John Madden. Great coach and broadcaster. He was the first broadcaster to spark a bidding war for his services and opened that door for others. They should put his iconic calls back into Madden video games. Quote
gilbert11 Posted December 30, 2021 Report Posted December 30, 2021 I recorded and watched today’s Good Morning Football. With comments by the team and all their guests, it was an enjoyable 3 hours of coverage of Madden. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted December 30, 2021 Report Posted December 30, 2021 If you look in John Madden's coffin you will find a football coach stuffed inside a broadcaster stuffed inside a man. A ter-corpse if you will 🙂 Madden was fun to listen to, even if he could get locked on a phrase and keep saying it over and over and over all game. Two words would get his blood boiling though and those were "immaculate reception". 1 Quote
Eleven Posted December 30, 2021 Report Posted December 30, 2021 People always remember him with the Devils but he won a Cup with Chicago, too. 1 Quote
