This ***** just never lines up for me.  Syracuse hoops at 9 pm.  The Sabres have to start at 7:30 and not 7?  At least with this team, there is a good chance it'll be over by 9 pm anyway.

I don’t follow the Bills at all…  but my expectations since it’s “the local team” , has always been they won’t make the playoffs… And if they do make the playoffs they won’t win the Super Bowl. So they’ve been pretty much meeting my expectations most years 😂

Anaheim is for real. I don't expect a Sabres win tonight with that style of defense they are playing (non-existant) Won't matter who is in goal as they will be hung out to dry yet again. Have to hope Anaheim's goalie has a really "off night". Sorry to say it, but things are getting really miserable being a Buffalo sports fan.

I’m finding it hard to see growth in situations like 6 unanswered goals etc. Most nights they look like the keystone cops in their own end. This season is going to be a slog and the next 3 are setting up to be losses. If UPL starts one of them it’ll likely be a dagger to the heart of his confidence. If he has any.

I think you may be selling the Ducks a bit short. They just might hang with the Sabres and keep it close right up to the end.

I’m still struggling to figure out how 4 teams are worse than the Sabres.  Must be that 5-1 start that is keeping them afloat.  If they don’t get above terrible goaltending, they may not win 5 more games.

Maybe Paul Hamilton's speculation in the "After the Whistle" podcast is accurate: Don Granato has over-compensated for the offence-stifling system which Ralph Krueger ran.  It is possible to run the system with a more defencively-aware mindset with some adjustments.  Maybe he needs to do that.

I believe this and briefly talked about it in the last GDT. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Most coaches teach defensive responsibility before they let them loose. Most if not all of these players learned how to play defence first systems while they rose through the ranks in other leagues etc. Dons system sounds great on paper but not sure its attainable given the makeup of this team or the goaltending.

I picked up cheap seats for the game, since the awful bills game wasn't enough to keep me away from live buffalo sports apparently.

Enjoy the game.  Hopefully they come out firing!  Wish I could go but I’m not local.
