dudacek Posted November 22, 2021 Report Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) I see people, including Vogl predicting Laaksonen onto next year's roster. Idon't see it. Point totals+being right-handed should not be enough for an NHL spot. From what I seen so far, he's PP specialist who is not strong without the puck. We don't need any of those. I think he gets a call up to see how he does against NHL competition late in the year, but I think Fitz actually has a better chance of making the Sabres next year as a depth stay at home RHD. Pysyk’s return will be a factor in how the RHD plays out. I do think Oskari will eventually make the Sabres Edited November 22, 2021 by GASabresIUFAN Quote

Skinner Mitts Tuch Krebs Cozens Quinn Asplund Thompson JJP Girgensons Jankowski Okposo Bjork Dahlin Jokiharju Bryson Samuelsson Power Fitzgerald Hagg Pysyk Trade VO for a real goaltender Tokarski How’s that for a scary talented buy very young roster. I do love it when a plan comes together. If I had to make a couple of changes, I’d send Bjork packing, and obviously Hagg and Jankowski won’t be back. I’m still hoping for an upgrade on Pysyk to play with Power and the need for a top flight goalie hasn’t changed. However the majority of this young group will be what we see next fall and is our team right now. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted April 7, 2022 Report Posted April 7, 2022 (edited) I originally thought VO would be traded for a goaltender. I now believe that is in error. I believe KA re-signs him to keep the band together for as long as possible. I believe he and DG like the progress VO has made as a playmaker and improvement as a 200 foot player. So what does next fall's lineup look like Skinner Thompson Tuch VO Mitts Quinn JJP Cozen and Krebs Girgensons Eller KO Asplund Dahlin Jokiharju Power Dumba Samuelsson Bryson Fitz Varlamov UPL Edited April 7, 2022 by GASabresIUFAN Quote

Vogl's next fall lineup from Nov 2021 already has some hits and misses. He predicted: Skinner Cozens KO Asplund Mitts Tuch Quinn Krebs JJP Girgensons Thompson KO with R2 and Bjork in reserve. The obvious miss is R2 who is gone from the organization when the season ends. Thompson is now the top line center and Krebs looks entrenched on the wing. Bjork is also likely to be gone. The D is similar to most predictions except he has Laaksonen at the 3rd pair RHD. Oskari is unlikely to make the team next fall if ever. He also agrees with everyone here that KA needs to acquire a goalie to pair with UPL next season. This was also written before KA said was actively looking for veteran help on the right side. The point of his article was to show how the kids will factor in over the next few seasons and how we'll probably be ready for the playoffs in another 3 years. I'm calling BS here. Obviously we have 5 months of additional info, but this team looks primed to make a leap in performance next season as long as KA gets the vet goalie and RHD we need.
