Both Mittelstadt's and Jokiharju's injuries were being talked about as 6-8 week injuries when they occurred.

The Sabres won't be putting anyone, but possibly Boychuk's ghost, on BF-LTIR because it doesn't gain them anything.  They're miles from reaching the salary cap & should a guy have a miraculously quick recovery they'd have to hold him out until he's missed the games threshold or been out at least 30 days.

I seem to remember, or possibly misremember, that Mitttelstadt was out for about four games and could return after the west coast trip.

There was talk here about Mittelstadt possibly coming back soon.  But the initial word out was 6-8 weeks.  

Haven't heard anything about his recovery since they left for the WC road trip.
