The Sabres & Bills doubleheader today got me thinking…did the Sabres, Bills and Braves ever win all on the same day?

Also trying to recall,  did the Braves and Sabres ever play on the same day in the Aud?

Enquiring minds want to know? 😊

No data on the trifecta.  Almost positive the Braves & Sabres never did a same day double header.  It was the Sabres getting priority on choosing home dates that caused Snyder to decide to sell off the players & eventually the team.

Any chance there were two events on a day at the Aud? Sabres and “fill in the blank”.  I seem to recall it being newsworthy “the quick switch”.

Maybe I just dreamt the whole scenario, or more likely, my memory just sucks. 😂

November 3rd 1974

Sabres 4  at NY Rangers 3

Braves 124 at LA Lakers 101

Bills 29 at NE Patriots 28

There is probably more but it’s the first one I found. I just went to the 74-75 season because the success the Sabres were having that year…

It's possible, but the Sabres would definitely have had to have been the matinee.  The ice would not be playable in the evening after being covered earlier that day.  Maybe a concert could've followed, but doubt the Braves would've.  (And now we've gotten PA to waste his entire day researching your question in hopes of proving yours truly wrong.  Pretty sure that's a win-win for everybody.  😉 )

Remember many a Sabres game where they were pulling out the mats to cover the ice to be ready for an event the next day before the fans had even left the building.

And there were double headers of the Blizzard & Bandits, but that's not nearly the same level of effort.

Quoting myself here🤪….. but when you look back at that day 3 things jump out at you

All three teams won

They were all away games

They were against 3 “Big Market” teams NY, LA and Boston

What are the odds at that?

Nice job. Thanks for the effort.

I wish Elias Sports Bureau would allow regular folks (non clients) to search such things. I'd pay a small amount per search.

Long sports say continues.  Bills at 1 👍, Sabres at 4👎, Braves at 8🤞.  Add 55 trick or treaters and it’s been a full day.

26th year here.  Our next Trick or Treater will be our 1st.

I came of age in the 70’s.  I remember the talk when all 3 won on the same day.  I remember reading about it in Buffalo’s two newspapers.

Very good research.  Thanks!
