Sort of.  Mitts and Joki being out really hurts.  The D pairings aren’t great right now and they are running around and getting muscled off the puck.  They need to be more physical again.

On the second goal he was there in plenty of time but failed to get to the post leaving the short side open, and on the 3rd goal he failed to come out to challenge the shooter but instead just moved toward the post leaving the whole far side of then net open.  Yes it was bounced in off R2, but he likely would have been beat if the shot had been on net. Basically he was out of position on both our 2nd and 3rd goals.

These last couple games remind me of the streak. We need to get back to playing 60 minutes. We also need to get Mitts and Eakin back.

Yep.  The center spine is much better with them.

They looked gassed after 1st... early second Jet lag suchs... didnt have their energy but they hung in there and got a win.

Yeah, for those saying that we're not playing our normal game, well no kidding, we're missing half our centers.  One of our centers was just converted during training camp.  Take it and move on.

I will take any win, but you have to admit we were lucky and didn't really deserve it. They were crap to start and spotted us an easy 3 -0 lead but then they started to play the body more and drive the net and we were on our heels for the rest of the night before the OT. Pretty sure if it's Gibson and not Stolarz we don't win. 

Didn't result in goals, but saw some of those infamous Hagg giveaways tonight which is worrisome. Not a great game, but in terms of growth and culture change winning was really important and it's still a good sign. 

This keeps up we will start to see A list goalies instead of back ups and then things might be harder to maintain.

They clogged our passing lanes. Teams are starting to game plan for us. Don has to come up with a wrinkle.

Exactly. It was very similar to what Boston did. I'm not sure we have an answer.

 We have lowered expectations, so all good. Observations

• Disappointed in the third getting dominated.  I expected the Zegras/Henrique/Rakell line to have some success and they did in the first, especially. Zegras is going to be a good player. 
• Ducks played Tuesday and the Sabres Monday.  Yes, cross country travel and different time zone, but they shouldn’t have run out of gas. 
• Good passing and rushes in the first.  Skinner had his legs moving.  More SOG in first half of the second, and controlled play.
• Butcher/Dahlin - not a great night. I want/ we deserve a shut down D in the Eichel trade. 
• Didn’t think I would say this in August, but Eakin needs to get back soon. Hayden is not good. 
• Asplund continues to score and shows some skill on the one timer.  Enjoying watching him improve. 
• KO continues to lead and play hard.
• Tage losing Faceoffs left and right.  Strange bc he was exceeding expectations after the first three games on the dot. 
• Covid protocols coupled with two below average teams definitely affected attendance.  We sat in 225 row P.  Single game tickets sell for $75  with fees.  I bought our tickets at 4pm for $46 - fees included.
•  Kid got a puck.  Winning night right there.

I figured this would happen. But keeping effort and pace high should continue to help. And some wrinkles, as you say.

Didn't watch the game, we might have stolen 2 points, but when I see stats and still have 29 shots on goal.
All the teams playing their back ups against might not last though 🙂
