    • Lets wait and see. Love the effort so far but I need a bigger sample size. Good play 8 games in and I'm jumping on.

    • Nope - they have fooled me so many times during this rebuild that I'm on the sidelines this season.

NARRATOR: It was too soon to think there were good.

I maybe in the minority, but with 60 games left there is still hope for this season.

It's certainly possible, but the math is tough.

60 games remaining, Sabres are at 19 points. Figuring 96 points gets you into the playoffs most years, that's 77 over the next 60, 1.28 pts/game. Over a full season that's 105 points. Not unreasonable, but that's a pretty solid pace that the Sabres haven't shown any ability to match.

In over a decade.  Thats a very good team pace.  This team is not a very good team with even average goaltending.

I agree that making the playoffs is a long shot even with good goaltending going forward.

However to me this season was less about making the playoffs and more about growth, development and building a winning culture.  We are seeing the first two, but KA’s inability or unwillingness to fix the goaltending and give the kids a shot at winning most nights is hurting the “winning culture” objective.  When I’m talking about salvaging the season I’m really focused on the building a winning culture.

To me the first step is management showing the kids that they are pleased with the nightly effort by fixing the goaltending now.

I agree. Good is a relative term, this team isn't, but it's not a tire fire.

Maybe I have some PTSD from all those years people would be saying "We can still make the playoffs!" when the math said they have to play 30 games at a 120 pts/season pace to get to where the bubble would likely be. 🙂

Goaltending should have been the top priority for Adams...Just like pitching in baseball and QB in football, you build around them and that's how you start winning. We could be wasting some good young offensive talent on this team

We have our goalie, he's just not here yet.

We need a real NHL goalie now.   We need to start winning now to support this teams development.
