The Canes, who are essentially fielding a second line with an AHL roster filling in the rest of their lineup are taking it to The Kings.

The decision not to postpone games because they didn’t want to overload their schedule down the stretch is looking like a smart one for them.

Not that anyone here doesn't already know this, but coaching matters.

WNY’er, Andrew Poturalski, who has been toiling in the AHL for 6 years, gets a chance because of Covid, and picked up points in the last two Canes games.

They were off to a decent start without their 1C and now this?

Bring Lindy home. Not as head coach obviously but in some capacity.

So I guess the NHL will cancel all the games until after Christmas break ?

No.  Following the protocol, but no league-wide shutdown.  The Canadian teams are effectively shut down because they've canceled cross-border games and every game with a Canadian team was with a US team through Christmas.  Teams that *can* play will continue to do so.

Nothing after 12/26

NHL, NHLPA agree to pause season through Christmas, effective Wednesday

you'll need a full Covid test to attend practice.

You hope like hell it was a misunderstanding of intent.  But it certainly may not have been a misunderstanding.  Better for everyone that the worst was assumed and tragedy averted.
