Tamp seems so loaded, yet they sure rely on Vasaleschky a lot. Wonder how good they would be with say Carter Hutton in net for them

When you have a top-flight goalie you can lean toward offense and trust him to play to his best level, too.

They're gonna need him this year. Their depth is the weakest it's been in three years.

So how does everyone like the NHL on ESPN right now ?

Announcing is fine. Game presentation is fine. Overhead cam is fine. ESPN will be fine. Better than NBC/NBCSN.

Oh... but the NHL on ESPN theme music coming back? All the feels. Love that.

Wanna try that one again, one more time?

I feel like ESPN missed out in a unique opportunity to change the NHL broadcast slightly.

Instead of the same old graphic depicting shots, blocked shots etc they could introduce some analytics and graphs with all the fancy stuff on them.

And Pittsburg is going to get stomped tonight by the Bolts!

Incorrect.

Very impressed w/ ESPN's presentation so far.  It doesn't hurt to have people like Steve Levy & Linda Cohn who actually like hockey in studio for the broadcast & also grab some HNiC talent like Ferraro & Weekes.  Sean McDonough is no Gary Thorne but he isn't friggin' Keny Albert nor the shell of Doc Emerich either thankfully.

Hopefully they can keep it up tonight & the rest of the season.

Not looking forward to what TNT will do; they've got a tough act to follow & haven't been up to the task in past forays into football, baseball, nor left turn leaguing.

I really don’t like to look back, but Rodrigues could have a nice spot on this Sabres team.

#2C anyone?  Just like old times.  😉

It'd be too weird with his goomba feuding with the team.

No

That is the only correct answer.

Actually looking forward to the Releaae of the Kracken.

Bucci is back baby

Looking forward to hearing Bucci call a game.  But right now the crowd noise is drowning out the announcers.  ESPN does not have their A audio crew working this game.  Nor, apparently even their B-team.

To have an ounce of the atmosphere Vegas has....how far we have fallen...

I was thinking about that:  Granato needs to tell them to play for the fans.... as in, if you want fans you better play to make them want to come to the arena.

Wonder if Borgen will get sent down as Oleskiak and IIRC 3 of the F's out on COVID protocols were cleared today and traveled late to Vegas and are dressed for the game.

Which appears to answer @apuszczalowski's Q about how the COVID IR is working. Apparently when a guy is symptom free and tests negative they can get back in the lineup.

Holy chit!

Lehner stopped a breakaway!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's still a dick.

It doesn't count as a save when the puck rolls off the skater's stick harmlessly into the corner.

But, baby steps.
