He's from there, isn't he?

According to hockeydb he is.

So, he'd likely either really want to get back or really want to stay the #### away.

Is it he doesn't want anything to do w/ the Jets as they get close to the point of needing to rebuild or just doesn't want anything to do w/ the wonderland known as Winterpeg?

Maybe a bit from column A and some of column B?

You may already be aware of it that Barry Trotz has a special needs son. So there are family considerations when he considers relocating for jobs.

And NY is one the best states for services for special needs kids... I know, I have one.

Barry Trotz is a terrific coach. He is a better human being. He has been actively involved and a strong advocate in that community to make lives better for the families and make them feel a part of the community at large.

It's funny what those taxes pay for innit?

Very few people get upset at tax $'s being spent on items such as that.  What many people take exception to are expenditures like disgraced former Governor Cuomo's spending a few $MM of taxpayer funds on hundreds (1,000's?) of blue attraction signs along the Thruway which far exceeded the federal guidelines for such signs & then had to be removed (at taxpayer expense) to keep from having NY's federal transportation allotment from being significantly curtailed.

This is one of the reasons I’ll probably never move out of NY

Conneticut gutted their special needs funfing 20 years ago... so people do complain... had people we know had to move or go bankrupt... CT does better for adults but not for kids

I disagree. I see people up in arms over school taxes all the time. I have a person running for governor in PA who thinks the average teacher salary in the state is too high and wants to reduce per pupil spending to Mississippi levels. He plan is to eliminate property taxes that currently go directly to local schools and replaces them with...wait for it...NOTHING. None of that is hyperbole, it's come out of his mouth. This isn't a fringe candidate, this is the person who won the GOP primary.

and so is Canada, so I doubt that's the issue. I think it's just that he decided to sit back and cash his cheques for a while before choosing a prime situation.

Trotz was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Dauphin, about 3 1/2 hours away.

His son is not the only family concern.

Really thought we were going to get him...

I have seen some one sided asinine trade proposals in my time but this is from a guy writing for a website. Coles Notes version for those that don’t want to read:

Chicago trades DeBrincat, Dach and Murphy (while retaining salary) to Toronto for Mrazek, Muzzin and a 1st round pick.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

A 1st rounder?  Can the Loafs afford that kind of a hit to their pipeline for that little of a haul?  Surely a conditional 3rd in 2 years would be more appropriate, right?

That kind of proposal gets locked within hours on hfboards.  This guy is a purported hockey journalist?

The author ignores his own reasoning.  Who does the author think Chicago is rebuilding *around*? A 33 year old defenseman?  This is as stupid as the Chicago writer with the Kane proposal.  Maybe even worse.
