Thorner Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 There are of course exceptions, but generally after the draft/FA passes in the early offseason, and people say "there's lots of time until the season starts" - it's more so wishful thinking. Most of the time, the roster you see after those days pass end up what we see on the ice to start the year for the most part, and this year has been no exception Quote

Hey, it's a pain for 6 or so GMs to be up early enough to waive the guys they want to send down, 9AM is really early <_< , so instead we'll knock 2 hours of travel time out of the day for players trying to reach their new team. 1 Quote
thewookie1 Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Where exactly is Seattle on the Waiver List? Quote

Weave Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Watch, this kid becomes something in Seattle. 🙄 Quote
K-9 Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 KA was asleep at the wheel. Not sure why you let a player like Barre-Boulet slip thru your fingers. It’s not like the Sabres aren’t familiar with his play in Syracuse. 1 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Nylander to Arizona. LOL. I guess we won this trade. 1 1 Quote

Don't understand why Sabres wouldn't grab this guy. Even in a tank plan this would have been a good zero risk pick up. This team is just dumb. 2 Quote
Mustache of God Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Them waiving Axel Foley and not picking anyone up off of waivers is a real head scratcher. It begs the question, "Why?". Quote

I don't think you can send him down for the season if you claim him. Once the S hits the F this year, i think they want the roster flex? Quote
Carmel Corn Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Pure incompetence by the front office. I thank the Sabres for bringing me back to reality with respect to the high I've been feeling since the Bill's win yesterday. Quote

steveoath Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Are Seattle ahead of us when claiming waivers? Disappointed if we actually passed on ABB. 3 years remaining at 700k (ish). Quote

If they send him down w/in a certain time frame (IIRC, 1st 30 days or w/ in player's 1st 10 games) then if the original claiming club claims him & lands him they can send him down w/out releasing waivers. After the thresholds have been met, waiving him is just like waiving any other player. Quote
LabattBlue Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 So the Sabres had 1st crack at this Tampa player, and passed on him? Quote
