Tokarski and Dell are splitting the game in net tonight

Cool the highly anticipated fight for the Sabres backup goalie position this season.  My money is on Tokarski right now.  It's time for Dell to step up.

Any word on which one gets the start?  Would expect Dell which would give him the better chance to perform well (if he can).

But really expect that'll just give him the rope to hang himself.  If they really want Dell as 1 of the 2 that actually gets into games, need to give him every excuse for his poor performance.  He came in cold, the guys in front of him were gassed, ...

Just hope both are somewhat better than UPL has been

1 will be.  1 likely won't.  But, the 1 that is better than UPL likely isn't good enough.  And, while we can hope they keep the better 1 in the lineup, it's not a certainty.

Yeah I'm surprised that they don't give Dell the whole game.  UPL got two full games.  Anderson still needs some time in preseason too though so perhaps that's why they are splitting the game.  So far I have liked Tokarski better.

Would expect Anderson will get the 1st 2 periods vs Detroit & then Dell will get 1 final chance to show his league minimum salary isn't an overpayment.

Barring Dell FINALLY getting his head out of his bippy, will be very impressed w/ Granato & Adams if they bow to reality & make Tokarski the 2nd half of the battery.  (Which hopefully will force Adams to further accept reality & actually make a trade for another NHLer.  Even if Toker wasn't playing way better than he actually is last year, it would be very nice to have a 3rd guy that belongs in the NHL to let them limit Anderson's usage.  And if Toker's play last year isn't sustainable, having an actual NHL caliber goalie in his 20's, or even early 30's, would be a good thing.

So, guess we know that the Mittelstadt line will be him with Skinner & Hinostroza.

Wonder if they're going to move Girgensons & Okposo back onto the same line or if this is strictly giving those 2 vets the night off.

Interesting that the Thompson at C experiment continues.

Asplund-Girgensons-Okposo could be a relatively decent 2 way line.

Briere, Drury, & LaFontaine say 'hi.'

The one thing missing on the Sabres right now is an obvious superstar that isn't being run out of town.

There's plenty of what ifs but no absolutes.

FTFY. 😉
