Guest Top Shelf Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Well, put a fork in her, she's done. Although we can't blame him for all of it, Bettman deserves a heaping of the credit for this whole fiasco turning out like it did. This extended lock-out should be a real shot in the arm for the NHL. It's got to be a boon for the negotiations in future television contracts. Now the guy speaks of contraction, after over-expansion in the Southern states? I thought Tagliabue was grossly overpaid @ 8 mil a yr. Check the scorecard, his league has excellent revenue from merchandising, extremely lucrative TV contracts, and great fan support in all 32 NFL cities. Bettman makes Bud friggin Selig look good. I guess this is what the NHL deserves, handing the keys to the car to the village idiot.
ricogarion Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 Bettman is only the hired help, the owners lackey, the puppet on the string. The owners and the players are the "Black Hats" in this episode. Each one's greed keeping this great game on the sideline and the folks that matter most (the fans) held hostage!
