To put into perspective how this is essentially free money: to reach this the team would need 30 wins and 8 loser points. Our goalies are a completely washed up Craig Anderson and the Carter Hutton level awful Aaron Dell. This team is highly unlikely to win 20 games.

The only way I can see sucker bet is they have inside info on a Jack trade that makes this team at least somewhat competitive.

People are forgetting the loser point, parity, the fact that opponents don't treat every game as Game 7 over the course of a season, the real chance, if the team is out of the playoffs again, that they will have another meaningless strong finish. The main factor I am looking at is a real addition-by-subtraction boost in the lockerroom and some special coaching by Donny Granato.

People underestimate coaching. Not sure how after years of what we’ve watched but they do.  Going to see improvement. Hey maybe even Eichel will see improvement and join in halfway through.

Donate seems like a good coach based on last season. Maybe they even land a goalie through trade or off of waivers.
